If the demo comes on the PC, and the game runs well on my computer, AND the ue3 editor  is included, I will probably get the game. I wonder how you would tag a wall or object that can be used for cover, or how that even works. I remember how adding a door or a ladder was a chore, imagine the rappel lines, placement of breaching points, so much more stuff to add to the game. It will be an experience diving into all that.

Woo! this game is fun. The weapons have a really great solid feel to them. And the sound. Especially in the vegas map. It's like the movie Heat. Here is a good screenshot.

Is that screen from the PC version? It's identical to the Xbox.

I must say that the more I play this game, the more I like it.  The graphics at the beginning are deceiving, though.  At the start, the graphics are muddy, brown and somewhat washed out.  But once you get past the first level, the graphics improve considerably in terms of color.

The casino looks great.  I haven't made it past the trainyard section of the first mission, yet. I don't like having to play the same 20 minute section over and over until you figure out how to get past a situation. (I HATE checkpoint saves).  After five tries, I just go fed up with it and fiddled around with looking at the save games.

I took a quick look at the save games last night.  I think they can be modified but the first item in the file is a checksum and I don't know what algorithm they used to generate that.  I tried a simple sum32 but wasn't it.  It was close, but no cigar.

The savegame itself is pretty simple.  I guess that's why they go with "checkpoint" saves rather than a real save game which stores the entire game state.  I tried making a small change (changed my frags from 2 to 3) but the game wouldn't load it.  So I'm pretty sure it checks the checksum to verify the save game.

There doesn't appear to be code in the game to do quicksave/quickload.  The key bindings are there (F5 and F6 respectively).  But it would appear that the code to do it has been either removed or disabled.

I do wish there were some cheat codes available. (god mode is really the only one I'm interested in)  I think I'm slowing down as I get older.  I find that I'm not as good at OGR as I used to be, either.  I get killed a _lot_, now.  That's not much fun.

One other thing that I wish was configurable was that bodies and weapons would stay and not just "disappear" after a while.  It would be nice if you're running low on ammo to be able to go pick over the bodies after the area has been secured.

I am happy that there doesn't _appear_ to be any "spawn" enemies that just appear in areas that you've already cleared.  Or, worse, right on top of your position (like in GRAW).  It's a lame way to raise the difficulty of a mission.

Finally beat the game. Its a pain in the ass on 'realistic'. Fun, but i have the serious urge to play a sci-fi game now after all this realism.
