bbc link here

Second time in 3 years, If the Iranians are after an out and out fight, they should just let us know. Rumour has it that it is to do with increased sanctions in relation to the Iranians bid for "nuclear power". read into that as you will.

Hopefully this will be resolved- maybe they just got the waters mixed up? Supposedly they were clearly in Iraqi waters doing what they were supposed to be doing.

...kinda scary. Hope everything turns out ok.

Western Nations negotiate with terrorists/terroist supporting nations.  Iran is learning from NK.  Rattle your sabers ever so often....get paid!

Think of all the respect Iran is getting by standing up to the imperialist, racist west!!

I wouldnt say so, judging by some of the comments in the following link, it looks like Iranian press are as angry about the release as the west is about them being taken.

Im glad they are now free.  I wonder what reason Ahmadinejad had in letting go of the hostages.

I agree with most of the comments on the above link, but take exception to this one.

ARABIC-LANGUAGE AL-VEFAGH

The positive foundations that resulted ... may mark the beginning of a new stage of active diplomacy as events showed that the language of dialogue is the only means to solve differences.

BS!  Israel has continually attempted this approach only to have their citizens blown up.   While violence should NOT be the first option, It is a solution to some problems.  War solved the problem of Hitler, Hirohito, and Musolini.  Maybe Bin Laden should have just talked to us on 9/11 instead.  Criminals dont believe in this crap and dealing with them in this fashion will result in victimization.

I took that statement a little differently, 110.

In fact, I was about to post a positive affirmation, in regards to it, in that, if there was anything positive one of their fellow countrymen might hope for, is that it could be a start of "something" .., a new way, regarding diplomacy.  Its definitely worth noting it and not just dismissing it outright.   At the same time, from our side, I can see how one could get worried, I guess, that we would just stand there with our hands down at our sides, getting too trusting of wolves in sheepish attire.

But it would be cool if more diplomatic ties could be a stabilizer, for once!

Ya right, as if!

There is a growing train of thought in the UK (well friends of mine) that we should bomb the hell out of iran. I dont know if i condone this action, but there is growing evidence suggesting that Iran keeps on doing stuff like this we need to stop it from happening.

The puny weakling of a guy, who is almost always assured, each day, of having his lunch stolen and to be beat-up by the big kids, walks brazenly onto the playground one day.  He walks right up to, what he considers to be, one of the meanest, toughest kids, and he spits in his face.

What are some of the things that could make him so bold, all-of-a-sudden?  Knowing he should be getting his a@# whooped, but for some reason he acts like it doesn't matter one bit!??

For Example: He has secretly acquired the assistance of a big "protector", and is luring the bullies into his "trap".
