Can't argue with anything that was said.

However, I am constrained to point out the obvious.

Can you imagine the fallout from the liberals, the Al Sharptons, the Jesse Jackson's and the Cindy Sheehan's of the country if Bush was to pull a "Teddy Roosevelt" and go down there and kick some ass!!??

How much fuel would be added to the Bush-Bashing crowd, if the President pulled an "Eisenhower" and kicked out ALL illegal aliens!?

We have seen ample evidence that, even when Bush does the right thing, he is casitgated for it, constantly.

Which is not to say that Bush should NOT do it. I think he should do all of the above and the afore and THEN some.

However, having such a full plate right now, I can see why he would hesitate to do it.

Perhaps (hopefully) the actions of Richardson and Napalitano will force his hand.  Here's hoping.

Wow.  No light problem there to tackle huh Mono?

It is pretty fantastic that such a huge issue continues to be almost completely ignored except for the occasional farcacle response like allowing average folks to be deputized and work with or as agents of the INS.

The drug problem really has to be faced up to in the U.S. with real and modern solutions, not the usual knee-jerk, half assed solutions.  The "war on drugs" is nothing but a tax and spend scam.

Sadly there is no single solution to the problem but a start would definately be closing down the border to stem the tide of illegal immigration and then move forward with ideas like the guest worker visa program.  But to do something like that, it's more than likely going to take bringing in the military.

People are going to have to be ready to pay more for some products and services that have been kept artificially cheaper by illegal immigration.

This also has to be done in a way that there is some level of co-operation between the U.S. and Mexico and foresight with benefits for both countries and real solutions to the underlying problems.  A cultural change is going to be needed on the Mexico side of the border for certain and that kind of change doesn't happen over night.

Since there is nothing but rough estimates on exactly how many illegals are actually in the United States, kicking out "ALL illegal aliens" is a pipe dream.

Start with stopping more illegals coming in and actually have a secure border is the one of the true starting points.

P.S.  Bush-Bashing crowd doesn't need fuel.  He seems to do a pretty good job piling it on himself    cheesy .

I beg to differ.

The Bush-Bashing crowd seems to do a pretty good job of searching for any "cause" they can get behind as long as it can be used to bash Bush with.

Do you HONESTLY believe that Hillary really gives a royal rat's hiney about stemming the tide of illegal immigration?  Hell, she is a Welfare candidate thru and thru.

But, she sees a chance to make some political points in an area where Bush is percieved as weak (and rightly so) so all of the sudden, Hillary is big on illegal immigrantion.

What did she do during the eight years she ran the country with Billy boy vis a vis illegal immigration??

Not a whole helluva lot, if I recall correctly.

I think Hillary is probably the only person with a more "flexible" agenda than John Kerry. She's obviously a windsock candidate.

That said, I hardly hold her responsible for what Slick Willy did in the White House, pardon the pun.

If she is actually serious about steming illegal immigration in this country and protecting our borders, she'll have my vote. God knows the Republicans have done nothing but pus*y-foot around the issue.

While I would not go so far as to declare my support for Hillary, solely on the basis of her alleged stance against illegal immigration, I must admit that it IS a problem and if Republicans want to stay in power, they need to do something about it.

Maybe it is fate that the best candidate (from ANY party) for President in 2008  hails from AZ...   Cheesy
