Not really.. It is an accurate representation of how I feel about Cindy Sheehan's viewpoints.

Which are not my own views in many cases (hence my annoyance).
Every time I make a point you reply with an argument against an opinion Cindy Sheehan holds. (and your still doing it above )
Try addressing my posts. I can't speak for Cindy Sheehan and I can't defend a viewpoint I don't hold.

Um, they have been. DaSmerg, Fixxxer, and I have all been making essentially the same point in response to your posts.

You haven't ASKED for any explanations of how and why I feel the way I do.  So do not blame me for lack of explaining what you have not requested.

Close enough for government work..  Maybe you could enlighten me as to which parts of my viewpoint are confusing to you and require "explanation"...

I'm from a military family.  5 generations of military men and woman in fact who served their country when called upon and/or volunteered for military service as a career.

So you should understand that Commanders are "troops" too.  How can one say that they "support the troops" yet pick and choose which troops they support???

So opposing what was an apartheid government by any means possible in order to fomate change is not a good thing to do?  What exaclty is your point here because you've used about the worst possible example you could have.

Why bring in an apartheid government?  Is the US an "apartheid" government??

And yes, one of the duties of an elected official is to be at the beck and call of those who elected him or her and even those who did not, nor will ever vote for them.  That's why they call it "public office" and these positions are re-elected.

Cindy Sheehan doesn't hate her country.  Where on earth are you getting this nonesense from?  She simply wanted to meet with the President, asked, was denied, started holding a vigil as close as she could get to his ranch while he was on vacation in order to bring attention to her cause.

I noticed you glossed over the fact that Sheehan DID meet with the President.  And she had so many nice words to say about him, too...

The President decided not to meet with her and that decision is to blame for everything else to come from that decision, not Cindy Sheehan.

Typical Anti-Bush BS...  Why can't you be accurate??  The President decided not to meet with her ***AGAIN.  

IMHO it was a simple request that should have and could have easily been met and would have totally disarmed  any spiraling media frenzy like what is happening now.

It was already met once.  Would you have this one "loon"  (Someone else's word, not mind" be able to commit extortion against your President???

You quite obviously don't see it that way.  Great.  But don't talk down to me because 'I don't know...you were never in Nam'.  That's yet another form of that elitism you eluded to above  :wink: .

Uhh.. Geee... Have you looked at the topic of this thread?  You are defending her viewpoints, hence my responses.

If you do not share her viewpoints and wish to go into discussions that DO NOT involve Sheehan, please feel free to start a new thread.  I'll be there..

Then why are you posting, responding and defending in a "Cindy Sheehan" thread???  If you want to differentiate yourself from Sheehan, start a new thread.  This thread is about Cindy Sheehan and her "looney" (someone else's word, not mine) viewpoints.

The one time I DID try to explain my viewpoint, you started with the name-calling and such...

If you want me to explain why I feel the way I feel, you need but ask.  I would request, however, that you keep the discussion/debate/argument at an adult and mature level and refrain from personal attacks.  

I won't even bother asking that you not make unfounded attacks on the President.  I am beginning to understand that such a request is beyond the ability of this group.
