New Years Running total: 12.45 miles (Jan 1 - 8 )
Starting out slow using the "Walk to Run" "coaching" program on the nike+ website... its a pretty slow start, but I dont want to over do myself in the begging... I figure that even if it doesnt seem like much now, but if it keeps me going and prevents me from giving up... why not?
I went to the track today to get an idea of my mile time so I can compare it to later dates.... it was give or take a little, 9 minutes and 37 seconds. I have much to improve on, haha.

Running has been going well... still building up, but there does seem to be a lot of improvement. I just finished the weeks plan that had alternate days with reps of 5 minute walk 5 min run, the plan calls for doing 3 of those then walking... the first day was a little tough, but todays run went well. I finally figured out the importance of breathing and I think I got that worked out and running has been going a lot smoother. Next week will be 2 reps of 4 min walk 6 min run. I feel like I should have that down easily. While all of this must seem so simple to you, it makes me happy when I find that Im improving and an able to more that i would think i would be able to accomplish. Everyday is at least 3 miles. So far I have 92.5 miles down since new years, I only skip Fridays.

Wow, you're doing incredibly well! That's actually much better than I would have anticipated. Also, I'll have to remember to give you an e-cookie or something for your hundredth mile, which should happen next week if you're at 3 miles a day. Finally, here's some more motivation, not that you need it. |

So I tried my mile again about a month later, good improvements. I went from a 9 min 37 sec mile to a 8 min 44 sec mile.
