We were vandalized and robbed last Wednesday, during the day while we were at work, and school. They took gaming systems (two DSes and one Gameboy), all of our XBOX games, a laptop, my digital camera (the one day since I purchased it that it was left behind, when I went to work...wouldn't you just know it!)
We are still in shock because they tore up the place. They didn't leave any place untouched.
I was informed that they were probably looking for guns.
I feel sorry that they could have been friends, but now, they are enemies, whoever they are.

Anyway, I fixed the slave cylinder for my clutch in my Eclipse this past week. Then just to be safe, I ordered a new one. Got it today.

There's a part two
I called in sick yesterday, due to a cough, sore inside-of-the-nose, and throat, and exhaustion (probably the stress lately).
After dropping the boys off at their respective schools, I settled on the couch for some much needed rest. I heard a noise in the back yard, and my cat (who was home at the time of the invasion, poor thing) bolted for the front door like she was saying "their back, I'm outta here". I got up to let her out when the next door neighbor's alarm began to go off.
Adrenaline kicked in and I raced into the back yard, peeking over our fence, into their yard. Nothing seemed amiss, but the alarm continued.
Given what happened exactly a week ago, I called the police. They came quickly, and we found that the neighbor was actually home. She was (probably because of what happened to us) trying to set her alarm, and it went off. She couldn't get it to stop.
Alls well that ends well, as they say, but...the truth of the matter is that the alarm folks did not do what the neighbor's were under the impression they would do. no one called. no one came, until I called the police.
In the end, our best defense are alert and friendly neighbors.
Oh, and one of the cops told me they nabbed some burglars the day before. Maybe they have our stuff.

Happy international Starwars day everyone! May the Fourth be with you all! on a more serious note, @ BOBK: people dont respond to alarms anymore. They go off all the time and about 80% of the time its down to user error! I hope the cops find your stuff, at least you can make peace in the fact that judicial process can now commence! |
