$65 a barrel

you think we'll get even more gauged(SP) today?

i find it kind of odd that oil prices spike now when it never used to.

yeah well one of the reasons is that the chiness are buying all kinds of cars and buying lots of gas for it and the problem is that it only cost them around 5 cents to 1$ to fill a barrel of oil.....I find that the oil companies are only taking advantage of this so they can make more profits and they are only using the same excuse about *The Black Out* i think was 2 years ago as a excuse for high oil and gas prices they are retards i find because if most of the population can't buy gas they won't buy so the companies won't make any money so they wil have to lower the prices.....i hate those bas*ard  angry

They reckon theres two reasons its spiked.
One because of Bush's comments on Iran and Iran continuing there nuclear testing. Hence cutting there ties with Iran and decreasing fuel supplies.
And the Korea situation. Im not sure how this is linked but this is what was mentioned on the Radio.

Also, almost forgot, in North America apparently there has been a few fires and storm weather shutting down a lot of Fuel depots etc, also causing it to rise.

Yeah but still iran and korean shouldin't change much and yes we need a new source of fuel we ota use electricity or hydrogene they are probably not the best ideas but they would help stop pollutant the air we use and wouldin' cost as much....

I doubt all the commercial truckers and airliners will want to deliver cross country on a bike

The price will continue to rise as long as there is continued growing demand for it.

The developing economy of China is just one example of the growing demand.  But with North America being the chief user and increasing prices with no decrease in demand, you can blame ourselves on the spiraling prices.

P.S. Saw some pretty good analysis this morning and we may see oil go as high as $75-a-barrel in the near future (for Americans that would translate into $3.50 a gallon...think it was something sick like $2.50 a litre for us Canucks) simply because there seems to be no breaking point for demand yet.

Horrible to be hooked on something and the suppliers jack the price on ya huh  :hmm: ?  Oh the horrible circle of dependancy.

I paid 28 cents a gallon in 72 on the way to the beach.  I can't even afford to drive my gas hog anymore.

Actually, if you look at the inflation thing, and compare it with the price of everything else the price of gas is only 1% off expected rise of price.  So, technically, gas prices are only catching up with inflation.  Sorry to be the economically correct guy, however, I still agree that they are ridiculus.

I tell you whats funny here though, last time we had a dramatic increase, all the freight liners and truckers went on strike and did a blockade until the prices fell again. This time, theyve gone up a lot more, and theyve done nothing.

something to chew on (most of you have thought of this, but for those who haven't): average gas price in Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area is $2.99/gallon (and probably more in bigger metro areas across the country).  with a 15 gallon tank (typical for suv's and trucks), and including tax, the total comes to over $45.00 / fill.

Hope you're makin $$$ or got a prius or bike, cause otherwise you ain't going anywhere for the next 4 or so months.
