Polar Bears with lasers for eyes? Must have been nice. We had an entire colony of wasps training us. And when they went to bed at night, the little girls with pink dresses took over. And THEY carried around a bottle of pure sugar and coffee mixed with Mountain Dew, to give us a challenging pace.
I still have scars.

my platoon commander is PPCLI, and my section commander is PPCLI, both Afghanistan veterans. They are hardcore, and run us hard.

finished week 7, passed my rifle test and my platoon cmd inspection. Next is the company CO inspection on Monday. We have our 7.2 km rucksack march tomorrow. Since we have 3 weeks off for christmas starting Thursday we have to cram 5 days of training into 3 lol
Gonna be a rough 3 days.

3 weeks? Off? In my days we spent Christmas cleaning the head with toothbrushes so it'd be so clean that the virgin Mary herself would be proud to go in there and take a dump. And it wasn't in the army, it was in the boy scouts.

Hehe we've heard the stories from our platoon staff about their time in battle school. I can't wait to get into the airborne course up here.
We did our intro to Bayonet fighting. So much fun yet so much pain after.
I'm just sitting in the barracks waiting to catch my bus to the airport. I'll be home tomorrow so I'll be able to post some pics and videos to.

So I finished my first week of field training. Got to go to the range for 2 days and fire off some rounds. Ton of fun. Our winter boots tore up my feet. Barely made it through the 13 km rucksack march. Now I'm on week 10 and it's all gas training. We get tear gassed on Friday, that's gonna be fun. Only 3 weeks of training and I'll be on grad week, so close yet so far.

well finished week 11, it as all field training, we had to live out of our ruck sack, and we slept in 10 man tents with only a coleman stove and lantern as a heat source. maybe got around 2-3 hours sleep every night, and our last night in the field we had a simulated attack on our camp. they dropped artillery sims on us and our instructorrs would attack certain parts of our defenses to try and get in. overall the week wasn't too bad.
we did the obstacle course again this time we we got to do more of the obstacles since they cleared the course of snow and ice, and e did the bayonet course, which as a ton of fun. we had about 8 people break their bayonet or rifle.
last week of training coming up, 4 days of simulated peace keeping missions. gonna be a lot fun. after that it's grad week. almost finished with this stage of training.

Well finished my last week of training. Simulated peace keeping mission. It was a ton of fun got into a few firefights, our last day there our Forward Operating Base came under heavy attack, complete with artillery sims, simulated grenades. It was a ton of fun, I managed to get the whole fight on video, I'll post it up as soon as I can

well i was supposed to be starting my Trade Course Monday but during my driver training i twisted my knee getting into a vehicle and looks like i either strained or tore some ligaments and possible damage my cartiladge, so i have to do physiotherapy for a month and was taken off course 2 days before leaving.
hopefully the news will be better once i start my physio in April.
