For one of my computer classes I'm required to create something using application software, and I thought it would be kinda fun to make a short movie using R6:UO. Yeah, I know this is going waaaay back, but it's a classic and I'd like to pay some tribute.
However, I've run into some problems using various video-capturing programs (GameCam, GrowlerCam, etc) since UO doesn't want to run properly while these programs are open. So I looked through the program folder and found the replay files...is there a way I can convert these into a format useable in a movie-making program?

If I recall no you can't. Those files are not really movies but raw data that the game uses to "Replay" the game(if it's like how Ghost Recon is). The best way to record game vids is either to have a monster computer that can handle a game playing and a program that's running and using a huge amount of resources at the same time. If not, try hooking up a digital video camera to your computer's video out and record it that way. Then import the video off of the video camera.
I'm sure someone else will be by shortly to help or add to my suggestions.

Ok, what about FRAPS? Wouldn't that work? Then you just edit it with whatever video editing software you have for such projects.

I would have suggested that also but I saw he said "various video-capturing programs (GameCam, GrowlerCam, etc)" and assumed he's tried FRAPS. I've had good luck with it. Try the free version and see if it works for you FlyingHamster.

Eh the music really doesn't fit too much... it was okay for a practice run... I could see what you were aiming for but I think there needs to be less jumping around betweens squads to help make the vid feel a little more smoother...
but overall no too bad for a practice run.
