Excellon & RenderX

AMD has something bigger up their sleeves, namely a new series of processors based on Socket F. Dubbed the AMD Excellon, these dual-core processors are AMD's first test of the feasibility of their Fusion programme.

As the Fusion programme implies, it will come with an integrated graphics core which is a subset of the R600 VPU. This graphics core will share system memory with the CPU, but ATI claims it will be faster than the NVIDIA's new GeForce 8600 GTS, thanks to the inclusion of 16MB of really fast on-die memory.
read the rest of link for alot more information!

this is going to be exciting! i have some information on the intel and nvidia side but its not confirmed yet, lets just say its not as advanced as amd is already, but they are going to go in simular ways, just going to do it slightly differntly. i heard some other rumers that nvidia is going to startup a cpu and do a gpu/cpu thing simular to amd/ati, but this wont happen soon. intel on ther other hand released publicly info that they will make there processors more like amd, so addon that good performance of the core2 duo right now and add amd technology and you have one fast as hell chip with more features like sse4 and virtualization etc.  intel also slated to come out with some gpu features too, but its still in its infancy.

will this mean ati/amd will be the greatest solution? nope, but it will mean great things and an advancement in technology that we all need to make a new step in newer technology.

well its already the 2nd... april fools!

anyway.... here is some r600 details
http://www.vr-zone.com/?i=4866
for real.

anyways amd decided to delay until april/may because its going to release with the amd chips as well as the ati chips all at once, PLUS the lower nanometer process, meaning instead of 80nm it will be built on 65nm process - this will allow for more chips on one sheet, as well as cheaper and cooler chips.
