Hey, I was hoping that M$ would include the divx codec with the latest xbox update but no go, so all of my movies now have to be converted to wmv.  Do you guys know whats the fastest atm.  I have WinAVi converter. Its pretty fast but faster is the key.

I don't know about software, but there are a few DivX/Xvid compatible DVD players on the market for 80$ and under.

Another easy thing you can do is import your video into Windows Movie Maker. When the video is put all together, it will be WMV.

I found it to be very useful indeed, especially when i convert files to place on my Creative Zen Vision: M. It supports Divx and Xvid (so I can watch them at the GF's place or any place thats got a tv with AV hookups ... hotels/cottage).

Beats dragging a dvd player and disks around.  Problem is with the videos some times, people encode them with some FUNKY codecs sound in paticular. Mind you I have watched some movies on the players screen at work and stuff... not too shabby at all hehehe.

SUPER takes care of all that, also will record with advanced settings like increasing volume and such, rather cool.

here is a link to help ya play divx and xvid on xbox360
http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/1002/playing_divx_and_xvid_content_on_xbox_360_an_easy_guide/index.html

Quote
ast month a group of software folks at TVersity who know a thing or two about this subject managed to make the whole experience much easier and pleasant with their latest version of TVersity. They have a piece of software (and it’s completely FREE!) that is able to on-the-fly transcode many video and audio formats into WMV format suitable for the Xbox 360. As it is playing in WMV format from your PC over the network, you are not modifying the console software or hardware and using legal software, therefore your warranty with Microsoft will be fine. Essentially, TVersity is able to trick the console into thinking the source format is WMV (or one of the formats supported by the 360) by using transcoding.
