so my beloved, FREE(from work) 20" Viewsonic P815 Professional Series is dying. it constantly shuts off and restarts like someone is pushing the power button 5 times in a row until it warms up. plus i'm getting shadows and blurs where i'm not supposed to and it's getting annoying. i'd like to upgrade to a nice 22" or bigger widescreen lcd that is also good for gaming of course. so good response time and contrast ratios are a must. i'm not brand loyal but would like to stick to a quality name if possible.

i've checked all the typical sites and just get overwhelmed by all the fancy numbers and conflicting reviews so a little help is very much appreciated.

price will have to stay below $400 since that is my proposed budget for this thing to the wife.

addition: i get a discount through my work from Dell so that is something to keep in mind.

let's discuss...

Using your budget of $400 thats what I picked out for ya. Anything bigger then 22 inches @ BBY is well over $400

if you want a CRT go with NEC.
i dont know to much about lcd's because im still not a fan about them because all the ones i have seen are either to expensive and or really bad quality. i dont want to see flashing/flickering like i see alot of lcd's do. i dont want my eyes to hurt when looking at 2d windows, and i want a good view with out the sun or display angles distracting my view from playing games.

im looking for an lcd still.

anyone have any thoughts on an lcd i could buy from circuit city (have a gift card). im not sure what to look for. i hate lcd's, but we need one because of space issues.

im looking to game and have great view angle

350$ or less.

im not sure whatelse to look for.

the muttdog links...
Gateway - 22" Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD HD Monitor
looks like a great deal with alot of options i like, why else should i buy that one?
its only 720p which is not bad.

the Samsung - 21.6" Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD Monitor - High-Gloss Black
is not hd... does that even matter? i would like HD.
