A while back my microphone was broke off into the mic jack. This is in the front of the computer and is what I am assuming the primary jack. Well I bought a new mic and I try using the mic jack in the back ( because there is still half of the other mic plug in the front). Thing is I cant hear anything from the mic. I tried looking at the speach and audio settings to see if I can change the primary to the jack in the back but I can't find the option if it exsists. Any suggestions?

Use tweezers to pull the chunk out of the front half. Also check your audio settings, enabling mic gain and mic playback volume control (so you can mute/unmute it to test if it's hot). Typically if the front is plugged in it's just a few pins on the motherboard, which can be unplugged if necessary.

One last thing- does your new mic have a power switch?

It does have a power switch but I had it on. All the settings were right because I the mic I had before worked. And I reset all the settings just to make sure. Tweasers might work if I can find some small enough, but there is a small bar inside the jack that needs to be pushed down so the piece can be taken out. Its spring loaded I think. Who knows maybe I'll just have to buy a whole new computer or sumtin' :3d_001:

Gravity doesn't exist. It's "Intelligent Falling".
