So I got my birthday present early from the woman this year so I could load it up with goodies for our honeymoon plane trip and beach lounging next month.

I knew ahead of time that I wouldnt like the iTunes interface but had no other options to start with.  I just hate how it pulled all my songs from the named folders they were in and lumped em all together.

My buddy at work pointed me to Anapod Explorer which has a Windows type interface, gonna try that out tonight, but I was wondering if anyone has other suggestions for mods, progs etc for the 30 gigger iPod video?

Also, I cant seem to import video through iTunes.  The Video Library does not have the same look as the Music Library and even when I go to check the video preferences, they are all greyed out.  Am I missing something?

As for iTunes lumping everything together, I haven't been able to get around that. What I do is just create playlists and catagorize my music like that.

However, life gets easier if you start uploading your music using iTunes since you have have it automatically rip albums into pre-made organized folders. So I have everything I upload go into Band > Album folders.

Then if you create playlists, when you import your music onto your iPod, you'll be able to search for your music like that, rather then just going through the library.

iTunes is a pain in the ass to start. But once you get everything going, it's a really good music program, IMO.

There's an option for iTunes to organize your music... just uncheck that box. I think it's in preferences or something.

Thansk for the input but i decided to scrap iTunes all together for Anapod.  I figured out how to get videos on it by DLing podcasts or converting them to the ipod video format.  man this thing is addicting Smiley

I gotta find some things like a nice case that will protect the screen cause the first scratch it gets ill prolly dropkick the nearest thing to me, i just have a basic silicon case on it now but the screen is uncovered.  and a good car player is next on the list as well so I can let it consume my driving time as well
