Best antivirus software

I use avira as antivirus and it works quite smoothly.But I want to know which antivirus is best in use there working capability ps user interactive. There are lot's of software there in the market but the updates are somewhat late sometimes which may effect the computer again and again with the latest virus. Is there any suggestion for selecting the antivirus software?
