go back to the last driver before the newest one. see if it happens. sometimes newer drivers mess things up.
a word of advice, use driver cleaner pro from
www.driverheaven.net and read the directions on how to go about doing it (ie in safemode etc).
this is something many ati people have to do so that there is no conflicting files.
after you do that, then mabe try the new ones again after using driverCleaner again... if the problem persists.... you will have to fill out a feedback form for ati to let them know of the problem, and possibly help you out.
i suggest using just the driver, making shure that the CCC (ie the control panel called catalyst control center) is not installed. if you want the features it provides use
http://www.guru3d.com/article/atitraytools/189/ <---ati tray tools its the ati control panel that offers all the features CCC does but without .net and without the huge memory stamp (ie pagefile memory print).
its going to take alot of trial and error for you, so dont worry.
