Every time I begin the first mission it crashes.  I go online, to as many forums as I can, and what do I find?  --countless others who experiences the same thing...and each with a different "fix".
None of them worked, of course (for me --that is).

I'll find a way. rolleyes

OK...done!  Problem solved.

Now I just have to tweak here and there to get it to run the best speed.

Mouse sensitivity settings appear very helpful.

Spoke too soon.  I had everything fixed, and it was running great...until I took a break for lunch.  When I returned to the computer, it was back to crashing.  Haven't seen any fix from official forums that works for me.  No slighting UBI...just reporting for whom it may concern.

I will continue experimenting.

Unhandled exception - -529697949

My System
____________

SYSTEM

Gigabyte GA-EP35-DSL3
Intel Core Duo E2200 (I know, but I will upgrade this soon to 6600 or better)
PNY GeForce 9600 GT
Patriot DDr2 @2GB (800MHz)
Windows XP (SP3)
WD Caviar SE 360 GB

Game: 1.05
latest Nvidia Driver

_______________

This is old for most others associated, but there are others like myself who have only recently purchased it.  Funny thing is I rented the XBOX 360 version when it was first released, and went through the game twice.

I miss the auto-cover feature.

I was hoping to find a fix, other than the disabling of Physx.  So far running it with it at Normal seems to be working, although I could've sworn I went down this road before.

OK...the game is playable with:

Keeping the Nvidia Physx enabled, via the control panel, but each time I start the game, I have to go to Options to make sure it is still set at PhysX: NORMAL.

All other settings are High
Anistropic 8X (although is feasible that 16X is now available)

So far...so good. Thumbs up

Played the game for awhile, then quit to desktop several times.  So far, as long as it stays in Normal mode it appears that the crashes are a thing of the past.  Looks fine to me as well.

Hope someone can benefit from this.
