hey guys, i was recently at a lan party and my friend was telling me about how strange the multiplayer for GR:AW was. Stating that it has no hud (including no gun in your hand, just a crosshair) and that you couldnt switch to 3rd person mode, i wondered if there were some settings he had not yet discovered. So we turned it on, and i watched him go through the settings, changing "enable switch to 3rd person" to on. So i was like "oh there you go dude" his reply was "ive tried this but it doesnt work" he then put some others on that were related to HUDs and 3rd person. when we started the match, none of us had a hud (apart from a crosshair) and we couldnt switch to 3rd person. After the short-lived match, my friend just put the issue down to being a strange game, but i distinctly remember at the xbox 360 launch party 3 guys playing multiplayer against each other in 3rd person, and some of them were playing 1st person with guns in their hands (if i remember rightly, im definatly sure about the guy playing in 3rd p though). So now i was wondering, and i came on here to ask all you guys with the game who know all about it, is the multiplayer meant to have no hud and is it always meant to be 1st person? or can you do something about it?
thanks for reading guys, im quite interested to hear back
P.S oh, and by the way, this is for the 360 version of the game.

that kind of thing can depend on the server/game you're running. the host can force settings, so that some people don't gain an advantage over others. no problems, just have him join a different game.

they can control it for LAN's too. Its all in the game setup, so whoever was hosting it locked the players in 1st person. i guess i was thinking online/xbox live, but the reasoning is the same for offline. so...go to a different LAN party?

you are not understanding me.
we, as in, me and 2 other guys, started a split-screen, local, non-online-in-any-way game. we then enabled settings to allow switching to 3rd person. it then in game didnt allow switching or even display any form of hud (besides a crosshair).
do you understand? i was not playing LAN or Live, it was a simple split-screen match where we were hosting.

Well, clearly the only option here is to stick it up her butt and pee.

Its not a prob, nor will you find a setting to turn on 3rd person in MP Splitscreen. Reason is simple, when designing a game you want everthing to look great and run great FPS wise, So when it comes to Split Screen they dont wanna reduce the look of the environment or the FPS because they render what you would see in one screen 4 times, so they have to reduce things in order to get good performance, hence the missing gunview, 3rd person Hud. Not to mention all of those things jamed into a corner of the screen would cloud up the view so much you would not be able to see.

thanks for clearing that up.
this does make me wonder though why they would have a setting in split-screen setup that says "force 3rd person over-shoulder cam enable/disable"?
