New PC - new problem

So I got myself a new rig (Core 2 Duo e6400, nvidia 7800GT, Audigy 4 OEM, 1GB RAM).
Installed GRAW to see the new shiny goodness that was previously unavailable on my last rig and as shiny as it is I keep getting slight jerks in the game. For example, the video feeds over the cross comm seem to cut short and end prematurely, when receiving team AI replies to orders they seem to stutter and cut off.
Patched with v1.06, 1.10, 1.20, 1.3something or other (can't recall right now).
Any further ideas anyone? (yes, I'm using the latest drivers for video and sound cards).

mabe try lowering the settings in the GRAW options, and the nvidia control panel. disable hdr and various other effects.
that might or might not help, but try it out.

It's not running slow so much as almost running too fast. It's a bit weird. Might try turning off the EAX actually.....

Is this new rig running Windows XP? What anti-virus are you running? Do you have auto-updates turned on on the OS?
How much memory does the video card have? (256MB or 512MB)
Is there a sound manager process running in the background?
Anything that hits the network using TCP (as opposed to UDP) and doesn't get an immediate response will wait on that response. Windows (all the way back to WFW) will basically hang for a split second because the network drivers are given very high priority.
That's why I asked about anti-virus and auto-update. Both processes use TCP connections and neither process seems to care that you are using your system when they decided to go out onto the Internet.
For this reason, I turn off auto-update on Windows XP and on my Norton Antivirus on my game playing machine. Both will intrude on your game as if the own your computer.
A background sound manager process may also not be getting enough CPU time and can cause sound stutters.
Since this is an nVidia card, there is also some issues with the card and its "render ahead" settings. On many machines the video subsystem just doesn't work correctly unless the number of frames to render ahead is set to 0 or 1. The default is, I believe, 3.
Hope some of that helps.

Cheers Ronin!
Running AVG 7.5 free edition and Zonealarm. I will try shutting down the updates on these. I was also running 20% overclocked which GRAW apparently doesn't like either.

ya, games dont normaly like being overclocked for some reason. also those pesky background processes are terrable for games.
i fixed problems like this before from bios settings and or bios updates - but i had a simular problem in your regard on a system i had - all i did was buy a really good power supply and it fixed the issues alltogether.
