Check out this short preview of the decent-looking FPS (for a console) entitled "BLACK" just to check out the effect when reloading the weapon. Ubisoft could take some notes from this...

since when does blowing out two support pillars not cause a building to at least partially collapse, though?

The game looks good, but what's so good about the reloading effect? Looks really similar to RvS, but more notably like SWAT 4.

The game looks half decent, but I hope UBI doesn't take any AI notes, cause the AI in that game looks extremely bad. Though, UBI's AI isn't anything to write home about.

I don't know, sure it looks pretty, but so does FEAR. However what makes the replay value worth the cash? I didn't see a lean, or a crouch. How do you order your forces around. What is interesting about the universe. Pretty graphics mean didly these days, I got that already with SC3, and it has a decent game to back it up. Doom3 is pretty as hell and no one cares, cause the game it's self blows.

Carmack is right, the graphics race is over, every game that comes from a well funded studio is going to look decent, especially if they just license one of the many engines that all now have your SM 3.0, HRD lighting, and paralax mapping, I'm sure there will be new graphics components soon enough too. Mindlessly blasting away at pretty graphics, is as worth while as watching reality TV IMO.

Gah, this thread isn't about the game.. it's just about the focus blur used in the reloading animation. I think it's a neat new trick.. tis all.
