I don't have a 360 so I don't. I just think it's funny there hasn't been a single post about it here since the release. Wink

Speak up consolers.

I have it.. it's decent, I expect it to far better than the PC version, a comepletly different game actually (as was GRAW1), but I expect that's been discussed already.

I'm still completely amazed that the 360 is still so far ahead of the current needs, such as the fact that the requirements for PC are still just shader 2.0.  Everything in the 360 version has a shadow, including trash blowing by...it seems anyways.  It just looks soooo much better than even my 64 bit comp will draw with the ATI card I have.  And the gameplay is fun, and the AI is pretty good.

I just finished GRAW not too long ago so I'm going to let this one sit on the shelves for awhile and maybe come down in price before I try it out. I can't even rent it out here in the boonies yet.

Thom...play it.

I was dissapointed with GRAW 1; but GRAW 2 totally changed my mind. I had a blast playing it, the maps are much more non linear, the team AI is HUGELY improved. Now you can play with the red markers off, and your team calls out tango locations instead. "Over there, two to the east"... "Behind the green car".   Much cooler, much more realistic as well.   Now has full screen crosscom, and you can pan the camera around and smoothly issues orders inside the crosscom. You could do a whole mission by 'remote control' throught he crosscom if you wanted.

With GRAW 1, I had trouble getting away from the lack of 'pc feel'. But after GRAW 2, and with the performance per dollar I get from the 360 compared to another friggin PC upgrade, I'm almost a total console convert now.

I couldn't even play Vegas on my PC without a 3.5 ghz processor. But it rocks on the 360.

Anyway, Try out GRAW2. It's far better than GRAW 1.  Aramis, I seem to remember you really liked GRAW1; then you should rush out and get GRAW 2, like....now.

My only complaint, so far, is with multi-player functions...that is, at  the level my son and I have explored so far.

The game itself teaches you, as you play it, to get used to a certain methodology of using cover by pressing up against walls, etc., and it gets you used the the over-the-shoulder view.  It's very important to keeping yourself alive, and as I said, you get used to it.  When my son and I did co-op, all of that is thrown out.  Gone is the auto-cover feature and the over-the-shoulder camera view, even though in the options list it appears that you can have the camera set up as over-the-shoulder in MP Co-op, but we can't figure that one out yet!

We both found ourselves making the same, "what the?" comments.

I don't know why it is set up differently then the SP missions, and I miss those features, greatly!

Other than that, I really love it!

Anyone got GRAW2 360?
Nope.
No 360 here.
Hard for me to justify the additional footprint of another platform when the one I have does its jobs quite nicely, and until I can bring work home and finish it up on the X-box, I don't see that changing.

Console version of GRAW2 has different engine for SP and MP. So the functionality would also be somewhat different as well as rendering and physics. UBI used one engine for SP and RSE used their own for MP.

That explains it.

Is this more common than I am thinking? (it seems strange to me)

Thanks for the answer Wolfsong. Smiley

It's not that common to have two completely separate studios making the SP and MP parts. And so it's not that common to have differnet engines for MP and SP.

Actually it's more common than you think to have different engines, or at least to modify it. Halo 2 did it, and it looks like Halo 3 will as well. The Rainbow 6 series on consoles have been doing that all along- Vegas does it.

How do H2 and Vegas do in the comparison department?(SP/MP) given that, as you say, they both used seperate engines?

Were they also completely different teams, as well?

As stated previously, I admit that it is a complaint on my part that the handling is soooooo different to the SP as compared to MP.

The most common is the same engine but optimized towards MP and SP. Reason being that you have to modify it, or rather optimize it. MP still isn't strong enough to run on the heavy SP engines. You sadly have to have less physics, less dynamics, less AI and all that for MP to flow like SP.

have it, finished the single player, played a little Coop(been busy)
its Solid SP, Alot better than GRAW one. Meaning I actually finished this one and couldnt stop playing until I finished it, as opposed to playing the first mission and not finishing GRaw one.
Coop is the same with the heli hunt addition.  Which is cool and good cause my group played the crap outta graw 1 until vegas came out.

All and all its GRAW 1.5 with a more cohesive and engaging SP.     8.2 out of 10

Total agreement with Talon.

I stopped playing GRAW 1 and didn't finish it. And now I won't ever go back to it.

But I couldn't stop playing GRAW 2. Finished it, then turned right around and started it over.

GRAW 2 has made me a total console convert.

With those kinds of votes for the SP version of GRAW2, I'll have to give it a try.

Been playing GRAW 2 on 360 last 2 days,
graphics that good the camo actually works!
like the old embassy map from the original ghost recon! for multi play
I have played ghost recon on PC since 2002
Played graw on 360 mainly exbox live.

Tried PS3 yesterday, controllers kept dropping off the console,  bloody bluetooth,
Graphics look DX8 !!! definitely not next generation.

This is a superb  site.

Currently playing graw2, Battlestations Midway, Gears of war ,Ages of Empire3 WC, Battlefield2.
