Atari has announced a new upcoming FPS for all you Sci-fi fans out there. TimeShift available on PC and XBOX is just about to release their new demo for the game 10:AM central time over at GameSpot and from the looks of the movie trailers it look like it might be worth checking out.

(Click for imagey goodness!)

A review over at gamespot had this to say,

Quote
We do not have to model realistic guns or worry about sticking to convention. Thanks to this, we were able to develop weapons that interact in cool and novel ways with the time powers.

The game elements include,
    * Time control elements never before seen in any game - players can slow, stop and reverse the flow of time, affecting the world and enemies around them while moving freely through frozen worlds

    * Time shifting obstacles will challenge the players to think in four dimensions in order to overcome difficult scenarios and defeat challenging enemies

    * Next-generation graphics technology in the Saber3D engine, including normal mapping for amazing high-detailed textures and characters as well as parallax lighting, which allows the environment to come alive with detail

    * Deep storyline involving time travel and betrayal, featuring an alternate time stream

    * A wide array of unique weapons, vehicles, and operable gun turrets

    * More than 30 combat missions, spanning outdoor, urban, aerial and indoor environments, each featuring unique time shifting elements and challenges

    * Online multiplayer options that allow up to 16 players to use time based weaponry against other human adversaries

The whole Time travel aspect definately adds something new to gameplay. Reminiscent of Soul Reavers spirit shift thing for puzzle solving.

Cool. I'll be checking out the demo.

I can't install this demo. it says I have either other programs running, no space in temp or no net connection, all of which aren't true. I just wanna see if it's just me or if the file is corrupted or something.

I am not at home at the moment so I am not sure if it would be either so I would assume downloading it again and doing a disk cleanup might do the trick.
