Activision and IW have released a new patch for Call of Duty 2. This is not the patch that includes new material and contains punkbuster, however. This is a Intel Dual-Core Hyper-Thread Optimization Patch...

This Call of DutyŽ 2 update is recommended for Windows 2000/XP users with Intel Hyper-Threading Technology (HT Technology) enabled processors, multiple processors, or systems with a dual core processor. This update will bring any supported version of Call of Duty 2 up to version 1.01. This upgrade will not affect pure server, and will not affect your ability to join or host multiplayer games with version 1.0 players. Infinity Ward worked closely with Intel to improve Call of Duty 2 performance on systems with HT Technology, multiple processors, or dual core processors. If you do not know whether you have a multi-processor, dual core, or HT Technology enabled system, please see the ReadMe file for simple instructions on checking your system.

If the aformentioned statement applies to you, make sure you download the patch. (5.5MB)

Note: If you're having issues with the game being jumpy and you have a dual core processor then the following link might prove useful, .

i belive this patch only produces good results when you have a bad grfx card and cant play at high resolutions.  usually only CPU helps games at lower resolutions like 640x480/800x600... anything higher really uses just GPU power.  there are certain points in games that will stress the CPU, but its usually not while your running around shootin stuff... the developer would have to tell us when the game uses massive cpu power.

i like the idea of this patch, but i dont see why this game gets this update and not anti cheat.?
