spolier!
okay overall its pretty good. but we're clearly seeing some stuff thats over the top. When he chucks his goggles out into the ocean, that kinna dosen't make sense, I know what it signifies, he's leaving his world, and he's lost his identity, personal problems and such. However I don't get why he does it at all. why not give them back to the NSA perhaps? they gotta cost a few dollars to make, never mind the reaserch.
on the sort of plus side, the tralier is clearly made to have a action movie theme. I just hope there's not to much of that in the actual game, with the shift rainbow six took with lock down I don't want to see too much of that in splinter cell. We'll be seeing less stiff and emotionless charecters, I just hope they don't become caricatures.
hollywoods influence is here, I just hope it's the good kind, the peter jackson, steven speilberg, and perhaps even Quinten taretino, I just wanna avoid micheal bay shit.

I'm really not digging the girlfriend stuff. Watch the Trailer2 on gametrailers.com to see what I mean. Leave the girl stuff out of these games. If you want that kind of stuff, go play GTA, but please Ubi - keep it out of SC!

I don't think they need to keep it out of the game, they just need to do it not cheesy. Plus he's just been let loose to work in the public, chances are he might run into a female, you know cause he's not hiding in shadows in some parts of this game.
Love stories usually aren't for games, but so is half decent writing, and beliveable plots. With this series they've gotten the writing down pretty good. I know they took on some hollywood writers on for this project. However before you think they bend to hollywoods tune, they just turned down a offer for a SC movie, cause they didn't like the director. This is about the only decent game franchise that could be compared to films, books, it's doing big sales without dumb shit like DOA extreme beach volley ball, or brainless shooters like halo.
The age of this paper thin charecter that most games portray is what really holds games back. Deus ex was the first game I remeber where I had a realy emotional reaction to what was going on, 99% of everything else is relying on twitch reactions, and fight or flight instincts.
Enough games have anti-social slaughter fests where no one cares really who lives or dies, however that set up is PLAYED out. Hell with some decent writing we might cry when a important supporting charecter dies, but when RED4 dies you don't cry, you just miss his shot gun blasting at other baddies.
If the writing is decent it could totally fit. Love, sex, emotions, are all as much a part of the real world as radial lighting and physics.
