This next Gen Title has been announced over at 1up.com
have a look at what they have to say.

Regular readers of 1UP's sister magazine Electronic Gaming Monthly may have noticed a teaser in the back of the March issue pointing out that the April issue would reveal the first next-gen game in the Rainbow Six series. Well, now that time is here, and we can reveal that the new game is called Rainbow Six: Vegas.
Check out the April issue of EGM for the full scoop with loads of screenshots and information, but for a taste of what you can find in the issue, check out the first screenshot of the game above.

Also New Screens and a offical announcement from Ubisoft has just been made public.
the Statement found reads as follows.

Monday 06.03.06  Team Rainbow go to Vegas

Today Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest video game publishers, announced that it is developing Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas for next-generation and current-generation video game consoles. Scheduled for a fall 2006 release and developed by Ubisoft’s award-winning Montreal studio, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas is the fifth iteration of the multimillion-selling Rainbow Six tactical shooter franchise.

The stakes are high when the world’s most elite counter-terrorism unit enters Las Vegas, where over 36.7 million men, women and children visit each year. “Sin City,” the home of the famous Las Vegas Strip, flashy hotels, high-rolling casinos and world-famous celebrities, becomes the setting for a terrorist threat of global proportions. What happens when one of the world’s most famous cities is held hostage by terrorists? Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas will be Team Rainbow’s next-generation console debut on the heels of the critically acclaimed Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and the highly anticipated Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Double Agent. Today, with more than 13.5 million units sold worldwide, the Rainbow Six franchise is known as one of the best multiplayer experiences and is hailed for its immersive single-player games.

Rainbow Six Vegas will push the envelope of technology through graphics, artificial intelligence, physics and animations created by Ubisoft’s award-winning Montreal studios, which house some of the world’s best talent, including Senior Producer Chadi Lebbos who was the lead on Rainbow Six 3 and former Hollywood animator Aaron Gilman who worked on such feature films as Hellboy, Constantine and The Matrix Revolutions.

“Rainbow Six is back and better than ever,” said Tony Kee, vice president of marketing at Ubisoft. “Building upon the online success of the Rainbow Six franchise and harnessing the power of the next-generation experience, Rainbow Six Vegas will be the benchmark against which all next-generation games will be measured. With Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter being released this month to wide critical acclaim, and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Double Agent also due out this year, Rainbow Six Vegas makes it a perfect trifecta for the Clancy series in 2006.”

Other stories to look forward to in the April issue include previews of the Xbox 360 versions of Splinter Cell Double Agent, Stuntman 2 and X-Men 3, as well as a feature on what it's like to have a video game butler at your local hotel. Curious to find out what that means? The April EGM will be hitting subscribers shortly and will be available on newsstands March 14th.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas will push technology through graphics,
-this is probably due to xbox360 and the technology leap that it gives develpers now.

artificial intelligence
-doubtfull, unless they licenced AI from some other compainy. they always claim to have at least good ai, but its always flawed and majorly.  i wouldnt even say ravenshield ai was good.

physics and animations created by Ubisoft's award-winning Montreal studios,
-ok so what rainbowsix serise have we played that was good yet? lol, splintercell?  lol, its not even rainbowsix so we havent seen ubisoft make a good one yet.

which house some of the world's best talent, including Senior Producer Chadi Lebbos who was the lead on Rainbow Six 3.
- this wasnt exactly a good game - you know with all the problems, no patches that worked, network troubles, patch after patch if we even got one on time. bugged from the begining.

"Rainbow Six is back and better than ever," said Tony Kee, vice president of marketing at Ubisoft.
-of course, because ubisoft is nothing but a marketing and counsle game maker.

"Building upon the online success of the Rainbow Six franchise and harnessing the power of the next-generation experience,
-take the name and make a crap game or a game with nothing but bugs we will never correct.  now we will use xbox360 technology and port it to pc... yet we will never call it a port, even tho it esentially is because we are using the same code base, just so we can save on time and money.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas will be the benchmark against which all next-generation games will be measured.
-xbox360?

With Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter being released this month to wide critical acclaim, and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent also due out this year, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas makes a perfect addition to the Clancy series in 2006."
-if it really is a clancy game?  its just a name now that means nothing.

is this an xbo360 game ported to pc? i have no doubt it is.  but they will deny it becaues its going to use the same code base yet again.  lockdown was such a failure but they cant afford to loose money, so what do they do?  port them using same code base, think about it, minimal effort to make a game for PC, and less money.  good idea? well take lockdown as an example.  not a good idea for that game for sure.

ubisoft sofar hasnt said anything about lockdown and how terrible it is. they havent said anything about anything except release this information for their mistake of a game.

"he Rainbow Six franchise is known as one of the best multiplayer experiences and is hailed for its immersive single-player games."
HAHAHHAHAHAHA if we could logon or not get network lag (ie lockdown and ravenshield respectivly)... single player? ha that was way back with roguespear the last good game that had singleplayer that was immersive.

look at the comments here:

funny stuff. everyone is thinking the same thing... ubi is full of it.

What makes me laugh is since the release of Raven Shield, MO has been the "leader" of the revolt (a serious pitty to those who follow). Two games and an expansion later and he still follow the series with every bit of insignificant information you can find.

This begs the question; Why?

Why do you even bother reading about these games if you already know you don't like them? In hopes that they will prove you wrong? Or do you just enjoy pissing and moaning?

Just curious.

Ahh, I love how people are jumping to conclusions before they have even seen a video, let alone played it!

Quote
would be cool if the levels were actuall reproductions of real hotels and casions. id like to run through caesar's with an mp5

....except only if it was raven shield era or earlier Sad

I'm sure I remember people being extremely critical of Raven Shield when it came out, now people are using it like a benchmark.

well... so far ubi hasnt shown us any reason to say its all better now.  lockdown was a disgrace and now you think its going to be all better that they do a HYPE press release. pffft.

you should all learn so ubi doesnt make the mistake again.  of course, lets just let ubi f it up again and again and again and ruin it for all of us, AGAIN.

if all ubi can do is make a game that looks graphically cool, and not make a fun, stable, and BALANCED game with good ai... . then they are going to get it, and you know damn well they are going to f it up.

It has nothing to do with knowing/thinking that Ubi has tainted the Rainbow Six name with filth. What I find amusing is your following of a game/series that you despise.

I just don't know why you continue to dig up news on these games if you have no interest in them (aside from continuing your crusade).

i love this game as roguespear, and i want a new one.  they have the rights, and they have to provide.  if they dont like it, then change, because its a game we want and want to buy and play.  they need to change the way they do things, and thats not for us to decide, but they need to decide if they want to make better sales.

its sad we even have to say anything.

MO, I'm in full agreeance with you that the series has taken a nose dive. Raven Shield wasn't a true R6 game, but compared to Lockdown it was amazing. It's sad to say, but that's the reality of it.

There won't be another Rogue Spear-ish game coming out of Ubi anytime soon, so what's the point of beating a dead horse? They obviously don't take much of the communities concerns to heart because each consecutive title is worse then the last. Apparently, they are content on producing sub-standard games and seem to be doing ok for themselves (or they wouldn't).

But if you say; "Make the game like this cause that's the way I want it.", you can't possibly expect them to conform to your ('your' meaning the communty) demands. They make it, you either buy it or you don't. If they were smart they would listen, but as you can clearly see from the last 4 or so years they don't much care to make another Rogue Spear-like title to add to the series.

I just fail to see where all this is leading, because so far it's been moot. How much longer will you carry this on before you realize you're just wasting your time.

lol, there is nothing i can say to argue with you because you will likly just come up with something else to try and contridict me.  this is not worth my time, however the battle for a good roguespear/rainbowsix is still at large and worthy effort.
