I just had to add a thought I just had;
Unlike the superweapons in other games, in WIC, when the players know a nuke is inbound, there's this enormous tension and excitement. Every single person playing the game feels it, and grips tighter onto their mouse waiting for the blast, wondering where it will hit and will they survive.
It's a pretty cool thing the devs created, when it's something that impacts every player in the game in an almost emotional way. Very cool stuff. I think this is the best RTS I've ever played. I never played MP before on any game, but I do now.

Things to remember about the nuke in WiC: it wipes out whomever - friend or foe - when it goes off - going into the blast zone for the first 45 seconds or so will damage your units (in fact, the screen goes fuzzy and you get a crackling sound up to a minute and a half later) - it leaves a massive crater in the ground that your units have to now navigate.
Great game - and we're only playing with a small piece of it. Definately buying.

Let us also remember there are TONS of other tacical aids that can have just as much impact as a nuke, and look just as cool. The napalm stirke and carpet bombing are my favs. Even the smoke barage can have a fairly important impact, offensively and defensively.

I just pre-ordered the game.
If you pre-order, you get access to a third map in the beta, and more importantly, if you do not pre-order, you will lose your gamer tag name and stats when the beta ends. If you pre-order, you'll still have them when the retail goes live.
Now I just have to figure out how to get my access code from EB games.

I'd say keeping your name and stats is a real good reason to pre-order. And yeah, you know this game has to be great for me to convert ot both MP and pre-ordering.

Hey Mono...a lil blurb about the SP campaign I found... ...The single-player campaign, owing to inspiration from Call of Duty and Medal of Honor (see Influences below), will give the player the role of an officer of minor importance, in charge of only a few units, while the AI handles the majority of action on the battlefield. This contrasts the approach of most RTS titles, in which the player is in charge of whole armies and thus responsible for most of the action on the battlefield... sourceI'm looking forward to the whole game...both MP and SP.

You know what would be REALLY cool? If they set it up so you could "jump" in and out of your units to control them FPS style. ~Mike

I'm actually considering putting a clan together for this.
I suppose you're already connected somewhere Smerg? Otherwise I'd love to have you as a partner.

Just using my Comminity moniker atm. But it's only me there. Not sure if any of them/many of them will be picking this up. Only one is playing the beta.
Sure would be open to joining something. I'm about playing hard, working as a team and just having fun playing the game. Everyone hates to loose but me personally despises a cry baby.

You know what happens in WiC if you're team is doing real, real well? You're able to launch 4 nukes at once ...

so, how many years would it be until the nuclear radiation broke down enough to make that place livable again?
