Pretty sweet is all I gotta say.  Was thinking about picking it up but after playing for the last half hour, ya, gonna be buying.

IGN/Fileplanet/3DGamers.com series of sites have it set up.  One of our community members also posted up you can nab it from Nvidia Zone.

Sorry folks but the beta is MP only.  There is a tutorial and you can take a look at it.

Man, it uses some horsepower for graphics though.

Oh this game is quite the bomb, I've been lucky enough to play it since the alpha.

It's nice having no resourcing to worry about, I personally like turtling in most RTSs but I can live with out it in this game, plus going support role is kind of the same thing.

Alot of the the little things are what makes this a good game. Like being able to control click on the icon of a freshly deployed unit, So if You going air role, you don't even have to look at your drop zone.

Or being able to bring attention or requesting various specific attack on a selected spot, then the request if you click on the text that comes up will wisk you to the spot, and THEN, if you click the attention icon on that specific spot, it give a text accnoligment.

Throw on top of all this good in game VOIP, and you have a RTS with as much or more communication options as BF2.

Mike, give it a try.

It more scalable in graphics options than any game I've seen before. And even though it told me it was too demanding for my rig, it wasn't.

At it's default settings, I got 75-100 fps on my aging single core P4 2.4.

With everything cranked up including things it told me not too, I still got a fully playable 25-30 fps.

It's an amazing engine that puts out beautiful graphics yet still runs ike an oiled marble on glass. Try it if you haven't, it may run fine for you.

And I never play multiplayer, but I got on to try this, and I love it.

My name at Massgate is MONOLITH_BFS

I'd be up for some MP with you guys.

Somebody figure out how to create a server and password it, so it can be just us.  For some reason the create server option was greyed out for me, maybe because it knew what my CPU capabilities was.

Don't think we'll be able to create our own (unranked) servers till after release.  If you noticed, there's a whole ranking system.  Got up to seargant.

Man, played this game all weekend.  Super addictive fun.  The team play element is awesome.  If you're on a great team, then you're in for a fun game.  If you're playing against a good team, maaaan!  Get ready for multi-nuke fun is all I can say.

The Voice-comms in game are fantastic as well.

This game freakin rocks.

Graphics are unbelievable, and it still runs smooth on moderate systems.

If you missed the beta, definately get this when it comes out.

Wait until you see your first nuclear launch.  Awesome. It's photorealistic, breathtaking.

I hope the cinematics are good. My old compositing teacher is lead compositor at Massive Entertainment these days (and has been for about a year when he left the movie industry after 9 years). So I'll give him hell if I find any errors he would complain about in our work. Wink

Smerg, can you put that link to the DX10 nuke video here? I didn't write it down during game, and don't think I can access that message anymore.

Thanks Smerg.

Mike, I think the video is a little deceiving. He pulled pretty far back to get the entire thing in the shot. Experiencing the nukes ingame up close, They have an emormous impact on the game and the impact zone, far more so than C&C or any other RTS 'superweapon'. There's an intial white out flash when it detonates that he didn't catch on film, that blinds the entire map and all the players, similar to when you flashbang yourself in Ravenshield. By the time that clears, what you see left on the film is just the smoke plume, and usually a player has been eliminated. They can turn the tide of a losing game in an instant. Extremely well done if you see them ingame.

TO transfer tactical aid point, I think you press tab, or something else that brings up all the other players names, and beside the ones on your team, there are + signs, where you can transfer 1 or 5 TA points at a time.

Here's a very late taken shot of the flash, but it's at the end, so it's not truly evidence of the impact. It's hard to catch the exact moment because you usually don't know when it's coming. The initial flash bilnds and parallizes the entire map and all 16 players for several seconds.

You can see the white sky and the the whited out parts of the ground, and the shadows created.

And to understand the actual enormity of the event, this nuke went off clear on the other side of the map.
