"S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Trailer + Beta Coming Soon!
That's right S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fans, you heard right. Grab this trailer to see what Subscribers can Beta Test later this month"

Thats on a trailer right on the front page. with the game comming out in march, it might mean more then a month of beta access. which should be enough time to check out if the long wait has been worth it. I'm hoping for deus ex/gothic/morrowind. I'll settle for less, but oblivion will beat it graphicswise it looks like. I hope it has an enganging story, with permanent choices effecting the world (something I hope the oblivion expansion will deliver on).

Is it just me, or does the trailer look a bit dated compared to other games coming out these days
(Bioshock, etc)?

You better hope the devs had the same gameplay in mind.

This is a good article to give you an idea of how the combat should be, seems pretty damn realistic, especially for multi. Also one of the big things to note, being able to shoot out lights, so time for sneaky snekay, though from the sounds the AI will react to it, so careful sneaky sneaky.

For all the marvelous details they put into Vegas (anyone ever try shooting different piano strings inside the piano at the second hostage rescue?)

Shooting out lights is the one thing Vegas really should have had.

are you allowed to take screenshots and/or vid caps of this while "beta testing"?

if so i'd REALLY appreciate whoever did so and posted here.

I'll take a peek through the EULA if I get in and don't skip it like usual. I hope they allow it, since the game needs alot of publicity to build up some hype, and if the gameplay is like it sounds, it'll be easy to recommned esepcially through word of mouth. It needs it, because oblivion is out, looks better, and has a very interesting expansion on the horizon, crysis is also on that horizon.

If they allow people to post up stuff from the beta, and release, probably a multi demo, since it would probably more fesible then a small section of the single player. people might be more then happy to trade cutting edge graphics from stellar gameplay, kind of like WoW.
