There is a Tau mod available for download already, I wonder if it will be that or a new version of them.

I'm hoping its a new version. The screen shots look like they have more detail on the models.

Plus it has Kroot. Did I mention that?

(although I wouldnt be suprised if they used some of the models or the team involved!)

Hey Smerg.

Don't feel bad, I'm just now gettiing through GRAW PC, still haven't gone through SC: DA.

However, I did start playing Dark Crusade when it came out. DOW is a great RTS and DC is a great expansion. The new BFME type global map choices for the SP campaign is very cool.

The Necrons have some very cool gameplay features, and interesting strategies to go with them. There's some old threads of mine around here somewhere.....

Oh, I remember something...  The Necron hero character respawns where ever he dies. So always send him into the enemy camp and let him die there. The enemy AI always moves towards your troops or buildings, it doesn't stay behind to defend it's camp very well. So when the enemy army is halfway across the map, you simply bring your hero back to life inside the enemy camp and you can wreck half of it before the army returns to defend it.

Also, the Necron hero can re-animate all the dead necrons around him. So, if you also let half an army die with him, you have an instant army inserted into the enemy camp at will.

Works great. Almost feels like a cheat. But since it's a game feature......

How you liking GRAW?  Myself...it's a fantastic looking game and some of the things they have done with the AI is really fantastic.  It is a way more 'deep' game than the original GR.

That being said, having a team of guys you just drag around and can't take personal control of (other than to order some blocks around on a map and tell them what to do at point a,b,c,etc.) drove me batty and what IMHO seperates GR from GRAW and also what left me a little disenfranchised from the game.

Back on topic...

Yeah, REALLY impressed with that SP camapaign.  It's a load of fun.  Right now just playing with good old orkies.  Will mess around with the new factions eventually.

Not wanting to derail the topic, 'cause DOW rocks. But...

I absolutely love GRAW PC. I don't now why so many people had so many gripes.

Now, I did take 3 mods that fixed some major issues..

A good skin mod that got rid of the golden glow unis.

A mod the reduced the golden color, but still kept the post effects.

A good sopmod gun mod with silencers.

After those 3 fixes, GRAW is great.

Yes, there's no soul switching, but at least you can give individual orders to each seperate teammate, unlike the 360 version which only has 'group go here' orders. And I think the AI is phenomenal. Friendly and enemy alike move and use cover very realistically imo. One of my favorite games. Looking forward to GRAW2 PC.

A little bit more off topic.  Monolith, you mentioned you haven't started playing SC:DA, yet. If you got it for the PC, I'd take it back.  That is one BUGGY piece of software.  It crashed on me probably 100 times before I could finish the game.  And that's one of the less annoying bugs...

And about GRAW for the PC.  You can download Brettzie's M4 (with scope) mod for that if you're a diehard M4 fan.

Sorry for the detour.
