Turbine released a new DirectX 10 client for The Lord of the Rings Online so we took the newly DX10-enabled title around the block a few times to see how it performed. Those of you hoping for results that show superior DX10 performance might be disappointed. I believe the term “turd in the punchbowl” was actually used in this evaluation.

looks like dx10 keeps dissapointing all gamers. not only that but the grfx cards out now are only capable of dx10, not dx10.1 which will debut with service pack 1 of vista... and the 15th of this month hardware from ati will have support for dx10.1 and be priced really nicely! 250 for a card thats as good as the high end hd2900xt (it will be called 3870 i belive).
