I still continue to love the game. I'm playing through on Insane mode now. I think they made the guys so light after they're dead so you don't get "stuck" in a body. That'd really be a crappy way to die, and I can see why they did it. It's got great hit detection, and I think it's more of an immersion killer when you walk through a body. They had to make a sacrifice somewhere, IMO.
I don't think it's a stereotypical console game at all- it's really captured my interest, and it's why I bought a 360.

that blur, warping of the image seems to make the game feel less flat. Vegas should have had that.

My exact sentiment when it first got it. Wait a few weeks, it may leave you yearning for something with greater depth and freedom. Don't get me wrong, for the unique things it has, it's a great game. But likewise, the flaws it has become really really apparent by the third run through. I think though, that this only applies to the heavily scripted Single Player. I'm sure the freedom of the MP environment is where GOW really shines.

Speaking of third run through... HELP!
I need some help defeating Raam on insane. Anyone willing to jump in? I had a friend try but... he ain't so hot. I barely beat him myself on Hardcore. I've seen videos of how people supposedly did it but, at least for me (patch maybe?) they don't work.

Just stumbled on this while chatting with Fix. It's the HD version of the "Mad World" trailer. Even if you've seen it, I recommend checking it out. It's damn pretty. http://xboxmovies.teamxbox.com/xbox-360-hires/3820/Gears-of-War-Teaser-Trailer-HD/P.S. I STILL NEED HELP WITH RAAM ON INSANE.

No worries. I just played some vs online with a friend. It was fun. I REALLy suck but we had fun anyway. Most of my kills were of the chainsaw variety.
Then I went ahead and hosted a coop game from my save game. I waited maybe 5 minutes tops and this nice guy jumped in. It's nice to run into random, mature gamers who can actually talk to you and don't mind helping out. Took us 3 times. On the 1st two, I had the bow and missed a few shots (I hate that thing). Third time we switched and I had the sniper rifle and LIT HIM UP. We killed him before he even reached us the first time. It was awesome.
I'm still up for coop with any of you folks. It's just so much fun.

I think I read on a forum a couple of days ago that GOW is coming to the PC. Maybe I'll get to see what you guys are on about with this one. Or would you guys not recommend it as a PC game?

It's been rumored that it may come to pc at some point- Epic is open to it but I'm guessing Microsoft wants to keep it to the xbox for awhile longer.
I could see playing this on pc. I will say that it's not as in-depth as some pc shooters in terms of weapons and such, but I think that's some of the charm. The weapons they do have each have nice characteristics to them.

I'm not sure what MS would want to do... this is a major seller for the Xbox and the game itself has sold 3 million copies - I don't know if they want it going Vista. ( I'm not sure about XP )

IIRC when Microsoft announced this "Games for Windows" initiative, they basically said that most XBox 360 games would be available for Windows, too. I just hope they're not direct ports. The only thing on R6Vegas separating it from the consoles is that you aren't forced to use a game pad. Epic has a very good track record on PC games (AFAIK - the UT series is great fun although Unreal 2 basically sucked). Since GoW is based on the Unreal engine, moving it to the PC shouldn't be too hard. I would hope that they wouldn't pull a UBI, though and just slap it over there without trying to take advantage of any of the PC hardware (multi-core CPUs, SLI, SSE2, widescreen resolutions, etc.) Microsoft wants to sell Vista. One of the ways they want to do that is to make DX10 only games available for Vista. GoW (like Halo 3) would probably be a good draw for that. I'm sure Mark Rein wouldn't mind a little extra change in his pocket.

Cliffy B has been quoted as saying that it's not impossible. I could see them keeping it exclusive for say, 6 months to a year.
It's all speculation, of course.

It's all speculation, of course. Pure speculation, indeed. I feel like one of those talking heads on TV. "Is my wig on straight?"

Just got done playing some coop with a random, and we had a blast. I got him through the first act of the game and we agreed to come back tomorrow to play more. Good times.
