http://kotaku.com/gaming/rumor/gamespot-editor-fired-over-kane--lynch-review-328244.php

looks like the same old same old gamespot.  terrible reviews from this site. they often give good reviews for advertising money. etc. etc. etc.

they get extra stuff for good reviews - not by every game, but overall its true.

they havent confirmed why the editor was fired but its pritty point blank when you know how gamespot works - and of course they are not going to admit it.

Interesting.

I think it's not uncommon for a review site to be skewed one way or another. Take me for example... I'd give ANY pc game  a more favorable review over it's console counterpart just for the fact that I like pc games over console games. Not fair but unavoidable in most cases. Trying to find unbiased reviewers that won't give in to that same thing is going to be tough. Finding a review site like Gamespot that doesn't take ad dollars from game publishers and expect them to maintain an unbiased opinion is almost impossible.

Gamespot's response.

Doesn't sound very convincing to me.

Edit - interesting counter points to the rumor here
