(@ Mods= I didnt know whether to stick this in "gaming discussion" or elsewhere, so please move as appropriate)

Ever wondered why, as PC gamers, we feel like the raw end of the deal?...

It used to be relatively easy to port a game from one console to the next. Nintendo's "Gamecube, the Xbox and PS2 were much more alike," says Mr Florin.

Next generation platforms are different, he says: "Now we have to have very distinctive games for each machine and can't port that much."
Be prepared for Console gaming "Brands".

its cause pc platforms are so differnt - that when a bug arrises they dont want to go out and fix it at all.  when they can just code for one single system ie xbox, ps2 etc, they can do it.

new tools are being created so that ps3 is easy to code for, but all in all, its just differnt than something else, in fact the group of people thats making ninja gaden talk about how easy it is, and that the other dev houses out there are just BSing all this crap about how hard it is, because they suck at making games, ie its easy to code for xbo360, why bother with anything else.  they idely like to make money and easy money at that, so cut the corners whenever possible.
