Just from a quick glance, this looks like it plays like Oblivion, yes?

Pretty much from what I've seen. I haven't installed it yet, but if you haven't seen some of the gameplay movies, check them out if you're on the fence.

The gameworld isn't as big nor is the game as free as Oblivion (few RPG's are), however the combat system seems extremely unique. Such as a giant rock golem being invulnerable to your weapons and magic...unless you stab him in his soft eye.

Ok, so I installed the demo and played for a little. All I can really say is-- Wow.

It seems like it will be really linear, but the actual gameplay looks liek it will make up for the lack of choice. You can customize your character a little bit in the demo once you finish the tutorial and start the first mission. I grabbed some stealth increasing abilities and the dagger upgrades so I can be more silent and deal backstabs and quicker strikes.

Unlike Oblivion, you have a lot more at your disposal outside of your invintory. Can't quite get to the archer that's raining arrows upon you? Look above him, anything you can cut and release that will fall on him? Or if you're a mage type, send a fireball around the object you're using for cover and guide it to his face.

This is looking like a definate purchase. And not a moment too soon when my online play may be somewhat limited for the next few months.

Damn.

Tip of the day..... Don't select a non widescreen resolution, and then set the ratio to 16:10 (which my monitor is).

It CTDs the game, and I can't get back in to re-change the video setting. can't find the correct cfg file in the program folder to correct it either.

Plus, I had just deleted the downloaded compressed demo after I installed.

Now I have to wait in line and re-download.    :hmm:

are you two aware that this game ALSO comes with a multi aspect. From what I read somewhat interesting. A bf2 style game, with castles and what not to go through, 5 classes, flags, spawning, and while it might not be the most original game play style, it could be interesting from a firstperson, but fantasy, and online, and PVP? it's weird, but I could see it being something like the eldar scrolls online, interms of combat.

I can't get this thing to run now.

I've uninstalled, cleaned out my registry, restarted, reinstalled....

Somewhere on my rig it's retaining that incorrect graphics setting and it crashes on startup.

seems silly not to have proper widescreen support at this point. Hope ya get that fixed.

Just ran through the demo, agree with fixxxer for alot. One thing I noticed, that I was QUITE supriesed about,

THIS GAME HAS LEAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

ggggggod damn, never in my life would I think I would bear witness to a fantasy based game with lean. As soon as I realized that, akrane just made money. Oblivion with lean, would be sooo awsome, this is literally the next best thing, but not a copy.

It's graphicly worse, but still can hold its own, and I'm on the medium to low end of hardware (for now). However what fixxx was saying about game play options was quite true. with sources physics system + crazy magic, oh lord the fun thats gonna be had.

I'm loving the single player action so far. I'm hoping the quests stay interesting, while the combat keeps you on your toes. You can really take different styles of engagement. Stealth+ slice and dice sabs, stealth + magic, almost all Magic, in your face attacks (especialy once you can arm your self with a sheild) + plus some magic to compenstate for getting in to deep. And thats all from running through it for 30 mins or so.

Good to see inovation, and incorperation still take place in video games.

It has widescreen support.

The problem, is I selected a 4:3 resolution (1280x1024), but then I set the aspect ratio to 16:10 (instead of 4:3).

It's incompatible, and now I can't get the game to start to change the setting. Somewhere in the registry or somewhere it's retaining the settings even after an uninstall; so I'm screwed.

Mono - after install is there not some sort of config file that allows you to change all those options manually?

orly?

We will definatly have to check that out. Is the multi in the demo or will it just be packaged with release?

orlyx2?

I didn't notice that. I did try my Q and E keys in the hopes of it being there, but I guess they're just not assigned to those keys (considering E is use, I'm guessing that's why). I'll have to reconfigure my controls.

the defualts for lean are z and c. them shits for re-assigned real quick, and use ended up on the mouse. My controls are litterally like a rainbow 6 or BF style game, not an RPG.
