does anyone miss the old delta force games? Task Force Dagger and Land Warrior had more up to date items than Black Hawk Down or Delta Force Xtreme. Joint Ops also doesnt have what I like either.
feels like a retrograde. what do you think?

one thing people notice that makes the newer games "seem better" is that they are 3d models for weapons instead of a picture. back in the day, it was a picture. its still a good game. its easy on single player, but its still great gameplay. you dont find the M29 (the OICW) or the M4 Sopmod, or the PSG1SD, or anything like that anymore. if they want to improve the games weapons and such, they should include todays weapons!
here are some things you might have heard of that was forgotten:
FN SCAR series
M8 (reffered to in Google as the XM8 Carbine)
Cheytac M200 (a really cool long range sniper rifle, over 2 kilometers)
Felin FV2 (a LoneWolf weapon based on the FAMAS G2)
FAMAS G2
H&K MP7

I could go on, but I am in a 3D class that makes items for the games. it takes a long time to make even a low detail weapon. there is no "make it better button" as some people refer to. its really not easy to do. its easier for some, but its not all that difficult. if pro's can make an M4, they can make the M468, or the M416, or the M4 Sopmod. they look almost the same, but they operate differently, kill differently, and sound differently. (the M4 Sopmod will likely be suppressed, the M416 is Germany's remake of the M4 with better firing action, and the Barret M468 fires a better bullet, but they look similar).

what do you think would make Delta Force games of tommorow better?

I'm in the same boat. When I started off gaming, I had no idea what to do with all the extra team members you got with Rainbow Six games, and since Delta Force generally had solo missions, i just loved it!! Recently i decided to throw Operation Flashpoint back on my computer, though haven't had the opportunity to fire it up yet, think i'll include Delta Force on the old game revisied list. Hell, with RavenShield's age, it's getting close to being on the revised list. Especially with all the dissapointments we've had lately with UBI.

edit: Something i cannot wait to see is how these older games will look on a modern day rig, especially since I upgraded graphics cards in order to fall into the Vegas trap.

First Delta Force got me into tactical / special ops shooters. I can still remember the moment that i played the DF Demo for the first time..... such a great and innovative game (to me).

I once was a huge NovaLogic fanboy. Comanche Maximum Overkill! Ranks right up there with the Original Rainbow Six for me.

FOR SURE!!!

I played that and Armored Fist 1 all day.

My favorite mission was the one titled "maximum overkill" where like 40 helicopters get sent to take out the people clubbing baby seals in Antarctica.

Great game.
