Links removed until it's officially available. Until then it's warez, and not allowed. It will be on Fileplanet soon.

the reviews sofar have been 9 out of 10 and 10 out of 10.

the actuall people that have been playing it dont rate it that high tho.  i guess its not a game for everyone.

Yeah, that's not too transparent. What a jerk. Anyone with a brain will now give this guy zero credibility.

I'm downloading the 360 demo now off Live Marketplace.

As soon as the PC version is officially available, which should be soon, you can put up apropriate links.

i dont have the other link anymore, but here is this one.
LINK REMOVED

btw i respect the idea of removing it until its released if thats what you want, but its not warez at all. not in the least bit.  leaking something that is free anyways is also not warez, and because fileplanet says one thing doesnt make it true for the publisher - the fileplanet release is not the manditory release time/date.

Nvidia has released a new beta driver, numbered 163.44, to achieve full compatibility. The driver is for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of both Windows Vista and XP. The headline fix is "improved compatibility for Bioshock," as well as some HD video post-processing effects. The driver is SLI-compatible, which is a good thing, since Bioshock is guaranteed to make your system crawl.

Meanwhile, AMD has released a new hotfix for its driver, numbered 737-29041, which fixes display corruption and stuttering in the game, and which is also available for both Vista and XP.

ati hotfix:

annother file mirror:

The game is due out August 21 / 24 depending on where you are at on this planet.

Let's be real clear before you need to take another vacation.

The Platoon will not support downloading any materials that are not yet officially released, and were obtained by a hacking trick from Fileplanet. That file was basically stolen from FilePlanet before it was officially released.  Your "Pirate" bay torrent site is exactly where that sort of stuff gets put up.  And I read the news reports all over the net on how that file got obtained.

"Leaking" is when the official source accidently let's it go by a mistake. "Stealing" is what was done with the Bioshock demo from Fileplanet. Out of respect for developers, publishers, and official sites like Fileplanet, we will not promote the distribution of anything that has been leaked, stolen, or set up on an underground torrent site.

This is grounds for having your account closed. I strongly suggest not attempting to argue this point any further.

I just played the 360 demo. In general, I was moderately impressed. Graphically it's stunning. I love the retro-sci-fi style. It made it feel very fresh. I'm not convinced from the demo that the fresh feeling would last very long however.

The game-play didn't feel much different from your standard on-the-rails shooter (Doom 3 / Quake 4 / etc). That being said, it probably has more to do with the kind of game I like rather than this particular game missing the mark. Also, it could have been that it was just the short demo. If the player has to piece together the story-line, I could see the full version holding interest.

Pretty wacky game.  Kind of like an art deco version of Doom 3.

Not my cup of tea these types of games.

Still awfully pretty none the less.  Also another early look at the new UT engine.  Yee haw is what i say to that.

what do you guys think of this?
http://forums.2kgames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6628

basically they are using a newer version of secuROM which only allows people who paid for the game to only install it twice. they need to activate it once its installed.  but with so many issues that can be had, this is unfair to people who paid for this game.

here is a nice post about the issue...
Quote
Is there any way us gamers who bought the game could convince you of never using SecuROM again? Hell can we even get a patch that completely removes it from our computer please? It's obvious this DRM has only alienated your customer base and has caused REAL loss of sales. Not the fictional/hypothetical sales lost due to the piracy that you're trying to prevent. People who did buy the game want to return it. People who were going to buy it are now staying away due to it. People who pirated it, were going to pirate it anyways and have already successfully done so.

Please, for the love of PC Gaming, and the great games your company produces, can you stop using this kind of invasive, viral, DRM software that doesn't even hinder anyone other than your paying customers. I say this in all sincerity and with all respect. I'm not whining I'm just hoping someone high up will hear some common sense, or if not then at least listen to the money you're losing on a counter productive scam that is called DRM.
located at... http://forums.2kgames.com/forums/showpost.php?p=132316&postcount=12

im not sure if this secuROM version does infact only do this, or it just said this? so mabe the fuss is about nothing?

some users say...
So long as you're uninstalling the game before reinstalling it, you will never run into a problem.
the problem is, computers never work like this all the time.

anyways i havent read all the posts to find if 2k games did anything about this issue, but i belive they will do something to make sales... but the facts still stand... drm is still an issue to customers that pay for games.  i mean the publisher/dev's dont want games to be hijacked, but they are, and most times the day of the game release or even before it releases... i guess it makes it so that normal customers who dont know how to do that kind of thing from giving the games to there friends, it keeps it to only people who are wanting to do this and know about it.

im not sure if sales would be lost more or less.  wouldnt it be nice if they didnt use 3rd party security too? they are to easly bypassed and well known.  mabe a custom one from the dev's of the games would cost to much money? and they just dont do that kind of thing on top of it. (i would say ea as a game publisher could come up with something for there games?)

well, anyways its a big deal, especially for gaming cafe's who cant pay for all these new games because they have no cyber cafe' plans for them.

lots of topics Tongue

Well you asked for it.

What a crock. I only get to install my game twice? This reminds me of that BS with Vista and not being able to switch your machine over to a new HDD/Mobo with the same installation of Vista. How about this for you then: I won't install your game once, because I'm not going to buy it. I'll live without having to concern myself with "Oh... I don't know if I should uninstall this... I might want to play it again later, and I don't want to have to buy another copy."

And as far as "No problems as long as you uninstall the game first... that's not such a great deal. I'm going to reformat this week because I'm moving and it's time for some fall cleaning. How many of my games do you suppose I'm going to uninstall before I reformat? None.

When companies start realizing games with no protection are doing better than ones with these intrusive and borderline illegal anti-consumer programs, this will change. Unfortunately however I see more companies taking on a Steam/Battlefield approach where you must be online to play, which is at least a better compromise with the consumer.

here is an update to the situation.
http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/48621

they suggest a 5 by 5 rule for the activation issues and will be issueing a patch to revoke the current process and start the new.

widescreen issues were dissmissed earlier as the design of the game - best of both worlds they said... so they denied a fix, then some fans' made a fix for widescreen so everyone was happy. they noted something more about this in the link above.

I just bought HL2 (yesterday, actually, and, yes I know i'm behind the times), and so got my first experience with steam.  it seems like a smart way to do it; as far as I can tell, i'm allowed to install onto as many computers as I want, as long as I verify its me by logging in with Steam whenever I play.  I think that seems like a fair solution for all.
