You know, I hate that thing. I've tried to play it a few times.
But I'm a die hard Ace Combat fan, and this seems like no comparison. Maybe I just didn't give it enough time. But I couldn't get past the first few minutes. Just something about it I don't like. Seems extremely scripted and arcadish.
Should I tough it out until it gets better?

The game is a bit arcadish. One of the reasons are the controls. They are too easy, but you can change it so that you control the yaw, that gives you more precise control. I'm not a huge fan of the game, but it has its moments.

Arathil. We had another thread like this already somewhere or the other.
Also, Mono- Ace Combat 6 is coming out soon. Fans of the series are saying that this one looks spectacular.
By the way I just picked up R6 but haven't played it yet. I played the demo on a whim and loved the different style of gameplay. It may not be traditional R6 but I really liked it so far. I'd be up for some T-hunt.

I'm trying to finish up Just Cause before I jump into R6 because I have a feeling otherwise I'll never finish it. It's a good game for pure escapism. It's in no way realistic but it's nice to pop in and just do a little sandbox play. My daughter likes skydiving (I don't let her see any violent parts of the game for those of you that are wondering). It's such a pretty game too, that skydiving is actually fun. I let her pop open and closed the parachute. She loves it. However, I found out from my little button masher that you can dive into the water sans parachute from just about any height. Also- BJB, did you get rid of your 360 or something? It's been like... 2 months since you've been on last. Was just curious- I'm not sure we play many of the same games or anything. Hope it didn't Red Ring o' Death on ya.  |

I was having network issues so I wasn't going online in case your still curious. LOL No biggie. After getting a little bored with Halo 3 I really haven't been playing much of anything on my 360. There's some games out/coming out I'd like but it's holiday season so they'll have to wait. I mostly use mine as a media extender right now. Allows me to watch Heroes whenever I want as opposed to a bad time slot on Monday.  |
