The Splinter Cell series has been so good, I have faith that will continue. All we can do is wait and see.

I'm certainly not going to let a few random "artist concept" ideas of one possible scene from an entire game make me start predicting doom and gloom for a game series that UBI knows has a huge reputation and fan base to uphold.

But then again...I don't think Ravenshield lived up to Urban Ops. Cheesy

We'll see.

Art is not my only source.

Beware Sam Fisher

Listen to the messages and read all the postings. The prision concept art actually seems to be a part of the game you don't play but rather it seems to be how the story starts. You as Sam Fisher who has broken out of prison.

This may just be an elaborate way to trick everyone, but if everything there is a hint as to what's to come, there isn't much of a conclusion one can reach. Unless you are playing as someone else and Fisher is the man you're after.

If it's the former...bleh. Who would possibly think the majority of SC's fan base would want to play a highly trimmed down version of GTA? People (like me) didn't buy and religiously play the first three in hopes that they would change literally everything about the game in a future release.

If it's the latter, I'll be relieved.

What I've seen on the updated site actually reassured me, I'll write more on my theories later though.

I guess what I mean is, as long as the gameplay is the same, I'm okay with a storyline of Fischer being imprisoned temporarily, most likely do to being framed or something similar. Obviously from the website he breaks out.

I would assume the game would consist of Sam infiltrating various places to find his framers, clear his name etc, while hiding from cops instead of South American Rebels.

So basically, the gameplay remains the same, you're just sneaking around good guys instead of bad guys. Sounds like the same great gameplay we all like, with a just a different twist of a storyline.

Might be rather good to have a different type of storyline for a change.

I dunno, from the messages on the website, the newspaper clippings and such, I dont think he was framed, more of a elaborate setup to get him into a position to gain intelligence or something.

The proof, however, is in the pudding.

Interesting marketing strategy by Ubisoft in any case!

According to all the stuff on the website, what happens is that his daughter is killed by a drunk driver.  Soon after, Fisher is dishonorably discharged from the NSA and he begins a crime spree robbing banks, killing several civilians and police officers.  During his final robbery, he gives up and turns himself over to the police and is sent to prison.  He breaks out with another prisoner and hijacks a news helicopter to escape.  Apparently there is some kind of revenge story in there too, but I don't know how that plays in yet.  There is some other information that doesn't fit in yet, such as a picture of a cargo ship and an order for a Radiological Instrument Kit.  As was mentioned by someone before, this might all be an elaborate intel mission, but nothing has pointed to that yet.

OK, well some new info just came out that changes my theory about the game.  Apparently Sam Fisher must act as a double agent to infiltrate a new dangerous terrorist organization.  When Fisher escapes from prison, he helps break out a man named Jamie Washington.  I think that Washington is part of the cell and is Fisher's way of getting in.  Fisher I guess gets himself arrested in order to make contact and gain Washington's trust.  This makes me wonder whether the whole deal with Fisher's daughter being killed and him being discharged is just an elaborate plan to get him inside the terrorist cell:sc:
