Return to tactical gameplay: Through slower pacing and an enhanced combat model, strategic planning is the central element of gameplay.

Advanced combat model: Choose your steps wisely as your actions could mean the difference between life and death. Weapon accuracy is affected by in-game manoeuvres and events such as running, crouching, standing still or firing while injured.

Close-quarter battles: Maps in narrow corridors with non-linear level design challenge even the most tactical of gamers, increasing the importance of the infamous one-shot kill.

to me it looks like they see all the complaints and they are taking the steps necessary to please us... but from what i know, this is all just marketing. ubisoft cant pull it off, especially not on the xbox... no one on the xbox wants that stuff... they want run and gun.  the PC croud loves that stuff.  lets hope they come through tho regardless if its for the xbox. im not putting any money on it tho.  if ubi has any part of it, they will probably be able to run while scoped Tongue

why dont you wait annother few months. right now the price of 400$ doesnt justify the crappy games already out.  by the time they may have good games on xbox360 the price may have gone down, especially if they want to rival the ps3.. which should be out in less than 11 months (mabe 11).  anyways thats not long to wait and if there is a good game you want to play then buy it. i dont see any games worthy of buying an XBOX360 yet.  just the fact that you have something COOL isnt enough to spend 400$ and not use it to play cool games for  a couple of months.

but this game... im sure its been in development for a short while, so mabe why its going to be xbox... not to meantion well.. i wont meantion that, nvrmind.

I thought I heard that PS3 is going to be much more expensive than XB360. If so the price for an XB360 will not go down for years to come. :1 (5):

ps3 will likly be set back, but suppose to come out this year. mabe even early next year but they want to be here for xmas.

xbox360 is loosing alot more money then the xbox was... so i dont think, just for that fact only... that the price wont go down.

no price is set for the ps3, it could be 400$ without issues at all, but likly it will offer better stuff at launch than the xbox360 and i can see a 500$ pricetag just compairing it to xbox 360. blue ray alone will be 100$ min.

I think the big reason that old-school R6 fans aren't satisfied with the new R6 games is the lack of traditional mission planning phase where you can outfit the Rainbow troopers however you want and choose their every step. In my opinion, that's what gave the old games their unique tactical feel. Now that they took that out, the new games feel like any other tactical shooter.

If they reintroduce the planning phase (which is what the quote makes it sound like), I'll definately think about getting this one.

Seems like they're inundating the market with all these R6 titles lately.

I was in EB Games yesterday and I saw this one on the shelves. I was a bit surprised to see it was released. I hadn't heard much about it. I asked the EB Games guy about it and he told me it "wasn't that good". Anyone here actually play it?

Gamespot gave it a 4.7. Ouch. I usually don't put stock in gamespot reviews too much because they tend to prefer the arcadish and unremarkable. For example, according to gamespot, Lockdown was better than Rogue Spear. Still, in the review even they complain that the game has been oversimplified and is too arcadish.

IGN gave it a 6/10. "Milking the license. That's what we call it when a publisher releases mediocre sequels or expansion packs simply to get new content on the market without investing much time or money into a new game."
