Over at they have released a new Q&A and also some new GRAW PC multiplayer screenshots. Here is a small clip of the Q&A.

Quote
    *
Is there a map editor and an SDK?
A map editor is already on the way but no SDK is planned at the moment.
* How will work the spawn and respawn in multiplayer?
At the beginning of a session, each team will start in its main zone. When a player is killed they will have two respawn choices: he can either spawn in his team’s main zone, and as a result will be pretty far from the battlefield, or decide to join his Ghost leader, but this is only possible if the player spends some of the points they’ve earned.[/LIST]

You can see the Q&A . And the screenshots .

Seriously, wtf is wrong with these guys? Has the community not made it abundantly clear that we want an SDK? The life of the game will be so much greater if they release an SDK?

I'm not screwing around with this game. I haven't played the demo, and if there's no SDK planned (aka - forget about it) I may aswell not even bother trying it out. An FPS style game gets really boring really fast without mods.

Bleh. I have games I enjoy playing now.

One is an MMORPG, the other in non-MMO RPG. The non-MMO can be modded, therefore, it will have a nice long lifespawn. The MMO gets regular content updates to keep things fresh.

Why buy a game that will receive next to no content updates save for official expansions?

I don't agree with MO on a lot of things, but this is one of the few things I do agree with him on.

One of the big factors I look at when buying a game is how much I can get out of it. Every FPS I play without mods gets one run through, two tops. Then it does on the shelf never to be touched again.

After Raven Shield, I don't hold much faith in Ubi save for Splinter Cell. So hearing the SDK for GRAW isn't even planned at this time, I can read between the lines and come to the conclusion there never will be an SDK.

Dissing the long awaited PC sequel to Ghost Recon, without even trying the demo.

Shame on you.

I don't recall "dissing" the game. My problem (once again) lies with how the wishes of the community once again fall on deaf ears. It's so their expansion packs go unchallenged when the community craves new content.

Nothing would hurt by trying the demo, and I'm pretty sure I would like the game. But without the possibility of mods, I won't get the full version. So instead of getting myself even more disappointed that I'll be utterly bored with the game in two weeks knowing there's hardly any replay value (based of the genre in general), I think I'll just pass.

Sorry, I have no loyalty to the game name. GR was badass, but the company behind it has ultimately been it's demise. I have games I enjoy playing so I have no need for another. But a new quality game is always welcome. But when it comes to FPS;s, no SDK means I don't bother.

......aside from Splinter cell.

For me, if the core game is good enough, a map editor will hold me over. Certainly good expansions, like the ones for ghost 1, will hold me over even more so. I hope the expansions do introduce enough new content to make the lack of a SDK, and not just new maps.

I will certainly miss playing Ghost with you, but I guess I'll have to wait till burning crusades to hit some games with you, untill then maybe some of these gents will keep me company, once I can afford this game.

I have no defense for the Splinter Cell comment. You're right, it has no SDK and I still love them. However, I haven't played either Splinter Cell title for anywhere near as long as I/we played GR for.

Perhaps I'm just stubborn.

nail meet hammer. Cheesy

i'll tell you what.... you buy the game and you don't like it or it doesn't hold you over for the 2 weeks, i'll buy it from you so you won't be out anything. make sure it's the dvd version, i already have the cd version.

and as far as an SDK is concerned, we already have a "commitment" from Bo about a "sandbox" style editor. with that i'm sure we will be able to import models/textures/animations. i don't think we need an "SDK" in the sense of the term. if the editor is anything like FarCry's sandbox then we should see LOADS of mods for GRAW. but i can understand your reserve considering our favorites publisher's history.

i did until i played the demo and realised it's far better. now there is a new yardstick to measure up to.

ROFL

If there is any hope for mods, I'll will buy GRAW in the blink of an eye.

Tell you what, I'll download the demo and see how it is. If you think mod tools may come to light I will buy the game.
