Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter ® 2 PC Closed Multiplayer beta

Ubisoft anounces Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter ® 2 PC Closed Multiplayer beta signup to begin in the coming Weeks.

London, UK, 22nd March – Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest videogame publishers, today announces that registration for the closed multiplayer beta for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter ® 2 on PC will begin in early April 2007. Once again being developed from the ground up by GRIN, the PC version of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter ® 2 is being developed specifically for the PC and PC gamers. Look forward to seeing more information on Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter ® 2 PC as it approaches its release in June 2007. In the closed multiplayer beta gamers can get their first taste of the map CALAVERA, a map created exclusively for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter ® 2 PC.

The new Recon vs. Assault mode will have players fight their way through this Mexican village near the US border. As a member of the elite Ghost squad, gamers will need to use all of their know-how and expertise to stay hidden and sneak through small winding roads to locate and engage the enemy. As a Mexican rebel, players must be prepared to engage the Ghosts, using high calibre fire power, and must stop them at all cost.

The return of Team Deathmatch will challenge players and their friends to a fight a fight where everything is possible; explore, engage and terminate.

***Update**

 Good news for all you folks waiting for information on the PC Beta test. The registration phase for the GRAW2 PC beta test will start Wednesday April 11th on GameSpy. The closed beta test will then start the days after, when all the keys are distributed. The number of keys will be very limited.

Some people who where in on the beta for patch 1.30 and 1.35 have received an e-mail today from UBI inviting to join the GRAW2 Closed Beta team.

From what I've been able to figure out it's gonna work like this:
Those players who received an e-mail are told to send in their registration before the 8th if they want to participate, and will receive their codes and can begin testing on the 11th.

Also, on the 11th the registration for the remaining positions will open on GameSpy, and those who are picked from that crowd will receive their codes a few days later.

I guess this is a way for UBI to reward those who stuck around and helped out to improve GRAW1, which I think is a good gesture if that is the case.
