"Though company revenue announcements are often filled with fiscal-year projections, operating-income costs, and other financial mumbo jumbo, Ubisoft's first-semester report today gave news--both good and bad--that related to games.

Today's report wasn't just good for investors (Ubisoft was up 13 percent for the first half of its current fiscal year), it was also good for fans of the Ghost Recon series. The company announced Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, which is scheduled for release in the company's fourth quarter (January-March 2007).

No details on the game, including its platforms or plot, have yet been released. The sequel's timing is a bit surprising, as the original wasn't released too long ago. Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter--which according to Ubisoft has sold more than 2.4 million copies across all platforms--was released in March 2006."

It does seem awufully fast. Will it be that different or just a large stand alone expansion? In any case if you like your GRAW looks like you'll be getting more, hopefully it'll be for all platforms too.

2.4 million units times $49 is    $117,600,000.

120 million dollars. I'd be in a hurry to do it again too.

I'd be really surprised to see GRAW 2 out for the PC before next Christmas.  The PC version hasn't been out that long and GRAW 1 was released unfinished (and it's still unfinished in my view).

The 360 version might be out when they say but I don't expect to see the PC version, then.  But many of you guys play on the 360, now, anyway.

From what I hear, GRiN is doing the GRAW 2 for the PC, too.  I think I'll wait and see if they fix many of the things that they left out/got wrong on GRAW for the PC before I think about buying it.  GRAW PC is, for me, quite disappointing.

The XBox versions work better than the PC version.  But they lack many of the features that I loved in OGR, too.  Since UBI is calling the shots, there, I don't have any illusions of them getting over their hubris and admitting some mistakes in the way they've changed the design and direction of GR from the original.  I especially miss the firefight and recon game modes.
