anyone up for a little co-op tonight? if so hop on the platoon TS, I should be there most of the night.
You will need a program like Battlelan or Hamachi to play over the internet, this game has no internet browser to find online games only LAN.
http://www.hamachi.cc/downloadLan mode works, but if the host dies the game ends which is lame.
The first time I launched, the game crashed. Once I had unblocked it with windows xp firewall it worked.
I tried the demo on 4 systems.
It Alt-Tabbed quickly and efficiently on all of them.
It doesn't work on my geforce 5600 as expected the screen is mostly black. it can't do the shaders.
It works fine at self diagnosed settings on my amd Athlon Xp 2.0 with 1 gb ram and an expensive geforce 6800 Gt 256ram at 1280x1024.
It's a bit choppy (low fps) on my Athlon Xp 2.4 with a cheap Geforce 6600 256 ram at self diagnosed settings on 1024x768.
It's playable.
It runs fine on my big machine with 2gb ram blahdy blah at 1600x1200 on self diagnosed settings.
It doesn't run as smoothly as Quake or Unreal but it's very playable.
No idea what my FPS are.
Player skins look excellent close up, AI is really good at taking cover and leaning out to fire, but at point blank on "normal" can't actually hit anything.
(no sign of "mastermind AI").
The recoil and accuracy of the guns is modelled nicely, but the first person weapon view is forced. Loadouts allow for your secondary weapon to be an M8 an Mp5sd or a pistol.
Graphically there are some very nice touches to this game, I especially like the scopes. They do that thing with the tiny point of light in the centre of the black when you put your eye to it, until you get settled. When you are not scoped in you can see reflections in the glass.
When you reload you drop your empty magasine to the floor and it stays there.
The sound is headache inducing. It has some kind of low pitched "atmospheric" drone that cannot be disabled.
