I got my copy from gogamer. The campaign is'nt as bad as some people make out. Its just the bugs im worried about. I keep having problems with sound dissapearing. sometimes i give a command, but their is no verbage or recognition of the order. Missing LOD textures too. My graphic drivers are up to date, but i'll have to check on sound. I get good FPS though 25-35 most of the time. If i put my settings on high it will chug right along and give me "cardboard cutouts" Its all good though. Bohemia stands behind their stuff. Patch 1.05 comes out within a week and is supposed to fix LOD issues and improve framerates.

I've already downloaded 20+missions and 2 campaigns. I like using the USMC Marpat camo from Hepcat instead of the silly ACU (worst camo second only to alpenflage IMHO)

I miss the Apache and the Bradley. I hope the A-10 and SU-25 make it back in a future patch or addon. Odd that they have the M113, but not the Bradley.

Irregardless. ARMA is the foreseable future of Infantry simming with no peers other then VBS1 and 2.

some points:
-you can now swim, but if your in the water for too long you will start to loose all of your equipment. Ther is a script to counter this, but i think this loss should be nulled in a future patch. Im sure Navy Seals dont loose thier mags and NVG's and such when they swim.
-Saving is a simple pause button away
-buildings destroy in a similiar fashion to Mercenaries on the xbox. Not the best way, but better then the crumpled paper effect in OFP 1. i like the method in T:72 Balkans on fire better where you could blow specific chunks off.
-IF you have a potent machine and crank Arma up to max, this is a really pretty game. People who say this game looks dated and not up to 07 standards are turd nuggets.
-max view distance can be set to 10 Kilometers. I did this with max setting and got 5-10fps. (2.4 pentium 2gb ram ati X1600agp) chop-chop fuiee
-the ironsights on the guns are from the actual gun. not 2D "cards". The ak-74 sight post is raised too high.
-The FAL and G3 are MIA. Somebody made an AUG addon, but looks too much like OFP vanilla. But the mod community is hard at work on these. Vilas has added a bunch of firearms already. They are'nt up to the quality of Bohemia, but the'll get there and eventually surpass as in OFP.
-Helicopter controls and wierd. Something that was'nt broken was "fixed" here.
-AFV's do not have interiors.....Booooo AFV's now have seperate machine gun for the Commander.....Yayyyy
-despite there being a female reporter in the cutscenes, there are no female civilian "units". current missions have towns populated by dudes only.
-boats are better, way better. they're more FARCRY like. i want an aircraft carrier.
-wheather sound effects are GR quality. Lighting cracks and booms. spiffy. waves get higher during a storm.
-clipping is'nt as bad as in OFP. SWAT/ANTI-terror type scenarios will be better implemented this time.
-leaning and rolling are built in. like in FFUR mod on OFP.
-More inventory slots then before.
-ability to command more units. stoopidly so. In one mission i downloaded, i was in command of over 80 men. Woo Hoooo! lagness monster.
-both the editor and the quick mission editor from the OFP:Elite on Xbox.-good for quicky testing addons in a simple missions structure. You can smack a simple mission toghter in about 5-20mins.

I thought it was ok. I really liked the gimp factor. I was so wounded, I could only crawl. All in all, I thought it is a good game, not great but good.

The cool thing about ARMA is that its not really a "game", but an "investment".  There is an extremely high probability of a return on that investment in the form of addons and mods.  Arma info and Armaholic have addon & missions ready for download.  Better addons will be available when the new tools are released.

I may take a look at the final version.

The demo was a disaster though. Pure crap as it was buggier then any demo I've ever tested EVER.
