Wow, hadn't even heard of this one until its release on dvd/bd. Managed to snag the blu-ray from Blockbuster.

It's a "western" set in the Australian Outback starring Guy Pearce. Basic premise is that his two brothers and some other folks are in a gang. He and his younger brother are captured and "the proposition" is that he must kill his older brother by Christmas or his younger brother will hang.

It's kind of a slow burner, and it's very violent and bloody. Not for the kids (or potentially the spouse). However, I really liked it. Overall it was an impressive movie. I don't suggest purchasing this without a rental. I won't be picking it up due to re-watchability but I do really recommend seeing this if you can.

Anyone else seen it?

It sounds really good, I'll definitely pick it up. Also, while looking at the director's page on IMDB I noticed he directed "The Road" based on the same book by Cormac McCarthy. This was a phenomenal book (depressing, but REALLY good). I can't wait for the movie (this November!!)

Cool. I'll be on the look out. This one was interesting- more a shades of gray than a "black hat, white hat" kind of western.
