I just saw this movie. I was really impressed with it. It's a little bit of a downer, and a little bit slow in spots, but ... it just blew me away over all. I felt like the plot was a really interesting tale, and any time you throw in a creepy backdrop like an insane asylum... you have me hooked. Tongue

Has anyone else seen this movie? What did you think of it? I'd like to keep it spoiler free in here but... with any discussion of a movie, that can be difficult.

Yeah, I thought it was a pretty good film. Parts of it really reminded me of "Jacob's Ladder".

If you haven't seen them already, check out "The Machinist" and "Memento". Two great mystery movies with that same surreal feel to them (with an amazing performance and physical transfomation by Christian Bale in "The Machinist").

That movie was a bit different, but I liked it - especially K. Knightley (sp?). The plot was well written, as you said a bit slow in some parts, overall pretty good.

I give it...

Star Star Star :1/2: :1/2:

3 and 2 half stars of out five.

I've been meaning to see The Machinist. I've seen Memento. I really liked it a lot, but it was a bit depressing as well. Very well written though. Gotta say that the part with Carrie-Anne Moss was kinda gut-wrenching to watch- you knew the bad things were coming and you knew the protaganist had no way out of it.

If The Jacket reminds you guys of The Machinist I'll definitely have to see it. I think Christian Bale is an amazing actor. I hated American Psycho but his performance in it is really good.
