Superman Returns teaser

Tis the season...for next year's big popcorn muncher flicks trailers it seems .

Anyhoo, if you've not been paying attention or heard, Superman Returns is set to release next summer.  It's being directed by Marc Singer, the fellow who's done such a marvelous job bringing the X-men comic book series to the big screen.

Singer has said that there will be connections to the last great Superman movie...Superman II.  I'd agree with him on that, Superman III was a bit fromage laden.  Watching the teaser trailer you'll get what he means by connected to Superman II.

Synopsis of the flick...Following a mysterious absence of several years, the Man of Steel comes back to Earth in the epic action-adventure Superman Returns, a soaring new chapter in the saga of one of the world’s most beloved superheroes.

While an old enemy plots to render him powerless once and for all, Superman faces the heartbreaking realization that the woman he loves, Lois Lane, has moved on with her life. Or has she? though I hate superman, I would like this movie to do well. First for mark singer, since we owe him so much with the x-men movies. second I'd like to see a justice league movie, but that would cost way too much money right now. DC has to make films before it gets into epics. I'm also glad the story with 3 villians didn't make it, again just asking for a batman 4 outcome. I think it was lex, doomsday and braniac maybe. Those silly hollywoods.

The teaser looks promising. Supes' probably one of my least favorite heroes because he's just so... perfect. If they lent him a fallibility, a less clean cut image, I might enjoy it more. Of course, then it wouldn't be Superman.

We'll see.
