I'm sitting here thinking...what song would you want played at your funeral if you decide to have one?
I have a few...and I hope they are played.
If Heaven By Andy Griggs The Dance by Garth Brooks are just a cpl...what are some of the ones you would like played?

Well at least this thread isn't cryptic.
People can listen to the Hanson Brother's at my funeral for all I care, I'm f*ckin dead!

Yes, but...for me its a religious thing...Yeah that dreaded word "religion" so I want something for them to remember me by...and I think those two songs fit me best.

I'm not knocking religion. Believe in God/religion/whatever, but you're in your what, mid 20's? Seems rather odd to start planning your death at such a young age.
Perhaps "morbid" would have been a adjective to use.
However, to humour the thread, I'll tell you how I want my funeral.
I want people to have a party. I don't want people dwelling over my death. Death is a part of life. Go outside and have a BBQ. Don't sit in a room with my dead carcass laying in a box while you cry (or cheer...depending on who's in the room ).
So the music would be up to the "DJ" hosting the party. But I refuse to have a conventional funeral for me. This, of course, is assuming I have any way to enforce my own funeral.

I'm 24....I'll be 25 in December, but Fixxx...don't you think we should plan these type of things no matter what? I mean...we lost Shrap 2 months ago at such a young age...it could of been any one of us. So thats why the thought...rather it was morbid or not. And MONO...yeap...it gives me eye ball sweat often

but Fixxx...don't you think we should plan these type of things no matter what? Not at all. If you're planning and worrying about your death you'll never experience life.

It is morbid indeed to discuss a toic such as this but in all honesty, when I go I want to be carried around to frat parties like weekend at bernies.. As for the song(s) 3 doors down - Here without you Pantera - Cemetary Gates Pixies - Monkey Gone to Heaven Video @ http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2680608?htv=12Monty Python - Always look on the bright side of life That Crazy Frog thing... Not at all. If you're planning and worrying about your death you'll never experience life. Indeed true, I have been down that road till I got a ride, so now theres no looking back because...... "6" Couldn't resist..

I'd want to have played some good songs, which are Cemetery Gates (Pantera) and Say Hello to Heaven (Temple of the Dog), followed by maybe an instrumental - Whale and Wasp (Alice in Chains). Then Freedbird. Then I'd want the band that I left behind to have just a kickass jam session after the funeral.

I think you guys are focusing on the wrong aspect of his question.
He's not focusing on death or planning it. I think the point of his question is more "what song would reflect back on your life the best".
I'm still thinking. I want to give a good answer.

Geeeez.... I understood that quite well, thanks. Even though I have a thick skull. Considering you don't understand what I'm saying, I think I should remind you those who live is glass houses should not heave boulders. I was just pointing out that, IMO, it's morbid to think of YOUR OWN FUNERAL. You're thinking of what music you want people to play in a room where you're lying, dead, filled with embalming fluid and bloated like a puffer fish. Is it really hard for you to see my perspective? Bleh, forget it.

No its not hard, you're thinking...oh your dead blah blah...My perspective is...something to remember you by. You're the one with the morbid thoughts...I have the more...something for the family and friends thoughts. I hope that they play those two songs i have because I want them to know that the good times have just begun.
I don't think you're understanding that.
I throw pebbles...not heave boulders...boulders don't go very far.

That Crazy Frog thing... Couldn't resist.. If I went to your funeral I would dig you up just to kill you again! then dump your body on the side and beat myself to death with the spade or until the music noise stopped. Which ever comes first! At my aunts funeral last year we had a Frank Sinatra tribute singer, which was pretty good, although I seem to remember I spent most of the time with more of her neices and nephews (and getting hit on by her half sister........ and before you ask my aunt married my dads brother, hence no blood relation. Still feels wired though.... *shivers*). I'd probably have a Foo Fighters tribute band............ or a Viking burial at sea with a beach barbeque :lots of alcohol, and fireworks..... Infact people could remember me best by just telling lots of bad jokes.

I'm still thinking. I want to give a good answer. Mine would be the version of Amazing Grace by Phil Keggy, Riviera Paradise by SRV, The Messiah Will Come Again and The Loner by Gary Moore.

While I don't know about music choices, I've always said that I want to be late to my own funeral. Literally... I want everyone to follow my hearse to the funeral, and then when they start to park I want to go around the block a few times so I'm a good 10-15 minutes late. I was born late, I've been late to nearly every social event I've ever been to, and by god I think I want to be late to my own funeral. If folks don't get a good laugh out of that, then they have to leave my party.
