Apparently Joel Siegel walked out on Clerks 2 and made a scene while doing it. here is a 19+ minute clip of Kevin on the Opie and Anthony show. this is one of the best sound clips i have heard.

PS: i am a huge Kevin Smith fan.

Clerks is one of my favorite movies. Chasing Amy and Dogma were also pretty good. But after Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back I felt embarassed for Smith. What a disappointing mess. I don't mind crude and stupid humor, but it has to be funny and relevant. J&SBSB was just a case of "hey lets see how offensive we can be and still get an R rating!" Smith even mentions this in the commentary to the deleted scenes on J&SBSB -- a number of the deleted scenes were cut just so that they could push by the MPAA with an R instead of an NC-17. He talks about how it was a process of feeling out the MPAA to see what they could get away with and what they couldn't.

Unfortunately, from the few previews and reviews I've seen of Clerks 2 it looks like more of the same. I'm not willing to part with 10$ to find out.

As for the incident... Either Kevin Smith is a big self-important prick and a drama queen, or he's using this minor incident to drum up interest in the movie. Probably the latter given what I know about Smith.
While I agree with Smith that a paid critic making a scene at a movie screeening is a bit unprofessional, it's really not that big a deal.

Just my 2 cents,
~Mike
