I have seen a few technologies demonstrated on the show that I think lend themselves to dealing with an urban terrorist threat.

It quite possible that my perception is skewed from not seeing most of the  episodes. The one's I've seen seem to mostly about bigger, badder bombs.

We need to put more money into surveillance.  Much, much more.  I believe, intelligence is the only way you will beat a guerilla or terrorist enemy (based on what I've read -- I'm no expert)

To support what you're saying, I can tell you that current trends in US and Canadian military doctrine shows a strong emphasis in that direction.

I also watched a program the other night about Stryker teams in Iraq.  The Stryker seems pretty impressive.  Especially since it can withstand RPG attacks.  Having troops carried to crisis points inside a light armor vehicle that can withstand some pretty hard punishment AND maintain comm links between the Strykers and the ground troops seems to make a pretty effective ground combat.  I think this is the epitome of mechanized infantry.  Having several different variants of the Stryker for various support roles just adds to the effectiveness (and survivability) of Stryker teams.

I'm resisting the urge to tell you how I feel about the Stryker. I haven't seen the episode, so I'm at a disadvantage.

I'm interested in anything you can tell me about it.  As with anything, I'm sure there are down sides.  But seeing video of a Stryker taking an RPG hit that turned it on its side then driving it away a couple of hours later really impressed me.  The comm system also seems to be useful and well employed.

But, by all means, tell us whatever you know about it.  I have no axe to grind here and no dog in the fight.  It's not worth arguing over anyway.  It's just a piece of hardware.

I believe the APC in the PC version of GRAW uses the Stryker or something like it.  But the unit in GRAW only seats four in the rear.  The real Stryker carries a complement of 9.

I think GRAW 2 also features the Stryker more prominently.
